Doing the job
His eight month pregnate wife lies awake. She's fearful of potential heartbreak. Hoping not the grim reaper her mans life to take. She's trying not to break, for their other childs sake.
It's not for them, but for us to know. There's no where a Black man won't go. It's getting sticky. The type of man i am not too picky. Hoping to foil death and be back in a jiffy. My family needs bread,so i won't be getting in a hiffy.
I'm going straight on. Hoping to be alive, when my little darling is born. The days and hours drag on. Say the reasons, for this war,and i'm torn. Hey, no sh# t! It's dead wrong! Me and a ten of me want to see home, and not in a body bag all alone.
The wifes of the fireman, military, and even coalminers stay away from the phone. They're dreading two words he's gone. What this society make these young men do,and put their young families through. There's nothing a heroic brotha won't do. He does what he has to.
Shrapnel's hot. You bleed a lot. Reality to somebody movies tv it's not. You're often dead on the spot. If you live you breathe through your snot. It sinks in and you comprehend. There's but one life to live and it's all we got.
One massive cave in takes ten men. You don't where to start to grieve,or how to begin. Can't blame a brother for feeling shakey now and then. Now,a fire bomb goes off.No time brother to go soft. Hold my baby aloft. Tell him,or she, that daddy did his best for his loving family.
Put one more in the clip. Lord, don't let this rope slip. Keep this shovel attached to my hip. I can't bemoan and ask why. Only takes a second to die. So few to know,or knew, what i,you, and he do to get each of our families through. A Black Man does what he needs to do. There's no job he won't do.
Got to try to live and not die.I'll leave it to the world class speculaters to figure why.The threes wifes prayers have been fulfilled. Three brave Black men have more days to live.
