You know, the hue & glow
of many of my bubble baths
have ended @ trouble paths.
i rose from the tub soaked, undried
&, immediately,
the throes of love broke my stride
as I stepped on2 the floor tile
I was left with no more smile.
Slipping was giving
me a ripping bowels attack
with a dripping towel wrapped
around my thick gift & loins
life was giving me a
kick, swift, in the groin.
Love itself took a karate pose
&left-hooked me with body blows.
i was knocked---defenseless---
out senseless.
Once again I felt
another relationship’s patience slip---------away..

You see, none of my tangos with rainbows
ever ended splendid @ a pot of gold.
Rather, they ended suspended over hot coals,
came 2a “T”
---a soul shredder of a bold letter
that stops @ the top!!
& even @ a slower pace
The “T” was never in the lower case.
It was always capitalized,
wrapped in size in upper case
2take my lover’s place.

All but a few learn
that there are 2turns
of a head spin
@the top of a “T”
& both lead 2dead ends
where 1 can perilously fall n2 the abyss,
be summarily installed among the dismissed
---as in ejection from a flat earth,
the type of rejection that hurts
the worse.
Ahhh, but the explosion force
of Your tender temperament
destroyed that “T”rojan horse
& made me surrender 10 percent
+ 90 to You kindly--
&2gether we hand & fist vanquished
the concept of tossed loads
on steps @ crossroads
never again would it enter the center
--get inside our T² lives & their great gates.

You fit me 2a “T,”
1 that has no drop from the top.
4@ our ascension we became extensions
of each other
& there is no hegemony by either extremity.
We meet in the mutual middle
& don’t need consonants or vowels
2 consummate our vows…
