Quintessential Black Man

How can I love you
Can I see the beauty within your soul
Feel the sense of longing within your character?

Do I cherish that as much as those who do not understand you
I accept you?
I embrace your unique love for me
Because you stand out from the rest
Your fight for recognition as a man, a father, a brother and a son
Has been a hard one.

It continues to be a struggle as you crave to be accepted
For who you are and who you cannot become, and for this
I truly treasure you.

I adore you for you.
Unconditional, raw and un-refined.
Energy in it's purest form is perfect.

I accept your boldness, your faults, your flaws and also your feelings.
Feelings which run deep and passionate.
Feelings which retain my bond with you.

The essence and complexities is what makes me reflect that
You have everything that I want
You have everything that I need
Hope, vision, dreams and strength.

I can only stand tall and proud with you
Knowing that as a true black man you make me feel secure.
And I vow
To also give you the core of sweetness
and eternal safety
forever.

We should always be open-minded about those who we meet.

Thank you for your response

More specifically, what you've said is applicable to the weak , feeble, and naive women who become d*ckwhipped and misconceive the motion of lust for love when making love is more about the mind then physical.

_____________

this comment as a whole is very insightful, very insightful; however, I need a point of clarification,if you please: are you saying that love is more about the mind then followed by the physical or are you inferring in the comparative sense ...more about the mind "than" physical?

no, i'm not trying to overly parse your words, its that both potential meanings can apply, i'de like to know which one you meant.

again i continue to be so completely o'er taken by your sweet music. o' that i could have heard this in my youth when love was just begining, then perhaps i would not have made such a mess of the loves that i so foolishly did not nurture and protect. now, i wince and feel the pain of lost loves and empty spaces while sweet your music plays on...

more, more
