My heart breaks...
Up in the ER
2 in the morning,
yawning
a new day soon will be dawning.
Yet, Im here
with the coughs and blankets
little ones crying
and somebody in surgery dying.
We've been before
Same day different ish
Another Valentine's day will be spent
you hooked up to IVs
while I freeze.
Waiting on the outcome
another surgery and Im burdened
because of this situation
cant help but be in frustration
How can I be patient when you're a patient
undergoing the knife,
im hoping they can add to your life
I go and hide my tears but
I cant conceal my fears.
"we gotta stop meeting like this"
all crap we been through is now amiss
There's no candy or cards
and getting more hard
To be understanding
Im just a man demanding
wonderin if this was me
where would she be?
No matter how we let go
God wont say so...
Me and you,
is this what keeps us close?
I dont want to stay
I dont want to pray
But your pain wont let me stray
so I stay
so I pray
because your pain wont let me stray.
You count on me
to be me
Even though we want to be free
from each other
aint happening
I sign paperwork
answer question and after question
listening to the doctor's suggestions.
Another holiday
I guess this is what it takes
even if it means my heart breaks..
for love's sake.
