Southern Rappers Ruining Hiphop?
Yeeees they're ruining Hiphop!
These sloppy mumble-mouth rappers from Down South are RUINING the Rap Industry!
Radio stations all over the country are flooding the air with this country-crunk crap.
They don't give a damn what the public wants to listen to anymore, they are gonna play what they're gonna play anyway and FORCE you to listen to it and FORCE the next generation of Black youth to love it.
From East to West Coast you can't hardly hear anything else but the same mumble-mouth crap over and over again.
These step-n-fetchit negroes are doing more to ruin the hiphop and the image of Black men than all of the gangsta rappers from the 90s.
They are on the verge of setting AfroAmerica back 200 years with all that bucking and shucking they're doing on television on these award shows.
Got the whole world laughing at them.
Rappers like Lil John, Mike Jones, TI and others...........especially the ThreeSixMafia.
A Got-damn disgrace..
Purposely gruffing their voices up and grunting sounding like gorillas with the flu.
Most of them sound like slaves who just stepped off the plantation.
I don't know where they find these clowns at.
The type of dialect most of them use....I thought that old slave dialect died out 60 years ago with Bo-Jangles and 'em.
Here they're bringing it back and trying to spread it out over the entire world.
Now Black kids way up in Chicago and Portland talking like THEY just stepped off a plantaion from listening to these clowns on the radio all day.
"Wut choo know 'bout daaat guuuuul"
Why the hell is a 17 year old from a metropolitan city like New York sounding like Bo Jangles?
My mother used to take me down south all the time to visit the family and most of the Black folks down there didn't talk like these clowns.
Even those with strong southern accents don't sound like these fools.
I don't really consider them Southern rappers because they have no talent.
The South used to produce REAL talent like Scarface, Mystikal, Arrested Development, Usher, TLC.....but they didn't get nearly the publicity these monkey acting fools with all that mess hanging out of thier mouths and from thier necks get today.
And all they do is chant the same hypnotic shiit over and over again and bounce up and down with their arms up like monkeys...that ain't talent.
That's acting like a monkey.
Walking around with thier hair braided like some death-row inmate or all bushed out and nappy like a wild fool.
I'm from the old school where we had smooth robotic dance moves, tight rhymes with meaning and substance behind them.
When hiphop was in it's golden age, teenagers from all over the world were inspired and had pictures of Black men postered on thier walls.
Nice clothes, smelling good, tight fades.........
We used to be fresh to death....had everybody trying to look like us.
Now the youth of the world have to look to Justin Timberlake or Eminem because most of the Black rappers ain't worth a damn no more.

There's some decent rap,but orignality is a lost art. Also there's something to be said for being a professional and knowing your craft inside and out.
Shame, it seems that some of us are going backwards. Peace!

The South is not ruining Hip-hop. Certain artists from the South are coming out with wack songs just like up North. When that stupid Chicken Noodle Soup came out, we didn't give the North a hard time about it because the song was by a 16 year old girl or something like that. Everybody loves to throw Souljah boy and how he's ruining hip hop etc, but souljah boy is 16! He's rapping for all the young kids out here and his generation. That's what most of today's music is geared towards, the younger generation. That's why you hear all this snap this and dance songs. If you're a true Hip Hop fan, you'll recognize Hip hop when you hear it and not blame the destruction of something so big on people so not relevant. I listen to CD's that I make with old school songs because alot of the music coming out right now is garbage, but I have a choice to listen or not listen.

Although I didn't agree with most of what was stated, I respected your opinion - until I got to these two lines above. Something about them tells me you aren't black as (A) No black person would refer to another black person's hair as "their hair braided like some death-row inmate or all bushed out and nappy like a wild fool" and (B) No black person would suggest that their youth look to white people like Justin Timber FAKE or Eminem as role models - no matter how low hip-hop has sunk. Black people just don't talk like that.
I can find fault with rap/hip hop in all regions - North, South, East, and West. So, there's enough blame to spread around in all areas. Until you bring EVIDENCE of how the southern rappers have contributed soley to the decline of hip-hop, I say your opinion is moot.

How many threads are you going to make complaining about something?
And for the record..... THE SOUTH STILL HAS TALENT WITH SUBSTANCE, YOU JUST NEVER HEARD THEM. THEY'RE NOT RUINING HIP HOP. THE RECORD EXECS, THE PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE MUSIC ALL THE TIME AND NEVER DO ANYTHING TO HELP, THE GREEDY MIDDLEMEN, THE ARTIST WHO GOT LAZY AND LESS CREATIVE, THE BIG-HEADED, EGOTISTICAL RAPPERS, THE OLD AND SAGGY PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS GOT SOMETHING TO SAY, AND BANDWAGON RIDING INTERNET FANS ARE ALL RUINING HIP HOP. YOU WANT TO BLAME SOMEONE? LOOK AROUND AND SEE THERE'S MORE TP IT THAN SOUTHERN HIP HOP AT FAULT HERE.
Why are you dependent on mainstream media to give you something all the time? You have th internet. Go out and support indie artists who may have what you are looking for in terms of music. You need help, homie? I got you. I can put you onto plenty of people from the south who don't do crunk music and etc.
And don't ever ever ever argue about southern rappers mentioning R&B acts, fam. You're making your argument look a little funny. I can name acts from the 90s that YOU may never heard of that got play on Rap City and Yo!MTV Raps that were from the south making good headlines. I'm from the south and I hate it when people constantly complain about the south not having skills. Certain types of the music from the south gets picked up more than others. I'll be back with a list and check them out. Because of the internet, you actually have a tool you can use to find new music.
