Is music contaminating african american relationships?
Think about it....every rap song... women calling the men n i g g a z....men calling women b________ and h______ ....
Keyshia Cole should've cheated....
People sing/rap about being pimped...
It's just....like wtf....
do i need to say anything else.....

But my answer..is a resounding yes....
But the music I listen to...is healing..and for upliftment...so i dont have to worry about that problem

You don't have to say anymore, and its sad that some people call it 'entertainment'.

I understand the influence it may have, but I feel the contamination runs deeper.

I understand what you are saying but its not like an average person listens to a song and just decides that they what to do what it say.

usually weak minded ppl or maybe even ppl that weren't rised to feel secure about things they what to do so the do what others say. To me these ppl are the ones that are easily effected by these song.

because if thats the case then its not just music its tv, new, your outside environment......

if someone is doing what they see being done around them there not just getting it from the keisha cole's and 50's there getting it from everything surrounding them.

I listen to R.Kelly and he made me piss on myself. I listen to the Ying Yang Twins and I started whispering. I listen to P. Diddy and now I yell out loud everytime I see a fine black woman with weave in her hair. I listen to Nelly and I feel on every black woman I see at the mall now. I listen to Young Jeezy and I sit in traps all day until night falls then I count my money. I listen to Prince and now I wear pants with my buttocks hanging out. I listen to Ludacris and I started acting like a fool. And now I just bought some musician named Kirk Franklin. I think I am going to do the stomp now.

Why is that rappers are the cause of social ann moral decay in America? Really though did people have this discussion when Curtis Mayfield made a reference to "the baddest bitches in the bed" in "Superfly?"

Did people blame Rick James for the rise in drug use in the 80's? No I don't think so. People are in effed up relationships, because their effed up people.

I don't think it's fair to blame our failings on black music. I beleive that black music has responsibilties in the images they reflect; particularly to our young. But in the end it's our responsibility to know and do right from wrong.

I think BET is sold out because they don't market or expose blacks to the Julie Dextors, Ledisis, Adriana evans, Gaelle, and sooooo many more.

Sure they are infulencial, even on grown folks (sadly). But it's on us if we do wrong, regardless of the garbage that pumps through our airvwaves and cable box.
