Doesn't bother me either whichway nor does being told that or not;make or break me.If I do say it to someone who seems to really personify "a Real Man"..or " a Real Woman",my feelings are always sincere. If I say this to someone, I am usually "impressed" by their selfless, natural "for real" acts, words and behavior on a pretty consistent level.I love when people show some character, tenacity and compassion for their loved one or even strangers. Can offer some words of wisdom and most importantly live as close to their own motto in life as much as posible..Those that talk and walk the part. Those who don't give up when the going gets rough and/or are faced with dealing with their adversity or being there for a loved one sticking by them through the loved one's adversity.I like those that walk tall, walk silent but carry a big stick...they don't brag and boast about what all they do..and have done...Man...that's cool as Black Ice to me..."Real!!"

But I do agree with everyone here, the perception of this phrase is HIGHLY subjective between people.

People can...and do "assign" labels to others. What matters in the final analysis is if one accepts those labels.
