Would you date someone if you already knew that he/she had HIV, but everything else was going well? Why/Why not? And if so, how far could you see the relationship going? Is there a certain limit to it, in your eyes?

Personally, no I wouldn't date anyone with HIV.
Although there are different methods of intimacy besides actual sexual intercourse, there is not enough protection on the face of this earth that would make me feel comfortable enough to have sex with that person. I will not date a HIV positive person, because feelings will most likely arise and when its time to step it up a level I wouldn't be comfortable doing so, but I will be a friend until the end.

Well......there would be no sex...thats for daamn sure.

I dont know that a relationship would work unless I was being celebate at the time....that is not the state I am in....the next girl I get with will be sexually active with me for real so I cannot see this working.

The relationship would not have a future....I dont know. Maybe it would be fine if I could put aside the need for sex....it could be a great relationship aside from that if I was up for it.

Also, who knows, I could die before a HIV positive person gets to the point where the disease has turned into full blown AIDS and they are on the brink of life and death, but that isn't what I want in my future. I've dealt with taking care of someone with the disease and that is a lot of responsibility, so much that I would need to put my own life to the side.
I'm sorry for them, but like I said, I will be a friend til the end.

Yeah....taking care of someone who is on the downslope aint much of a relationship...I would not choose that. A couple of dates...sure...but why if it wont ever be long term? You are right about the "friend" thing.
