Cancer is much different. You can have sexual relations...and the person can be cured too depending on how early they noticed the cancer and what stage it was at.

I could date such a person but I would have to think real hard before seriously committing.....but it is much more likely that I would commit as long as the person is not terminal and soon to go out. Depends on the type and seriousness I guess I am saying.

Just "dating" a person with AIDS isn't the problem, I don't know about everybody else, but I don't sleep with everyone I date, however if I'm looking for something serious why waste time and accumilate those kinds of feelings that I won't feel comfortable carrying out or even utilizing with this person even if I wanted to. It may sound so selfish, but oh well. That's why I feel its better if I just remained friends instead of playing around with it.
Anyway cancer is a bit different but the same. There are cures for cancer so as long as this person is doing what they need to do to get taken care of and healthy, I don't see why not. But if a person is in stage four or so far along that a cure wouldn't help, I couldn't, because I wouldn't want to, but again, we can be friends til the end. Just my personal choice.

That's a hard one but then again it's not. I want a child so, does that mean I'd have to risk my child?

Maybe the answer is no.

The reason why I say it would be hard is because we are still all people and we all still have feelings and emotions. I wouldn't be with someone just to feel sorry for them though. Suppose you were with someone for 4 years and come to find out he gave you the virus? Do you still stay?

I agree with Blak cancer is curable and noncontagious. I wouldn't have to risk my life and potential problems for whatever children I wanna have.

If I wanna get serious there wouldn't be any point being with that person with all the dangers, complications and issues being with someone who might not be around too long. And dating well, if it weren't nothing serious and we couldn't have sex there wouldn't be much point to that either. That's what friends are for.

I could not do it. Outside of the obvious being I would not want to catch it, if it ever turned into AIDS, I would not be able to handle seeing someone I love suffer. I can barely stand seeing my husband with a cold.
