Communication and RESPECT !
I think mutual RESPECT in a marriage is more important that Love.
Both of U have to be commited to the relationship and U have to know what issues are not that important so they dont lead to arguments.

Please,people done got too materialistic and selfish for a marriage to last a long time..they just want the title,so they can go ahead and have sex and kids..and a ring,they dont put work into it,likes its instant coffee or something... 
Heck im surprised when people last longer than 5 years...smdh |

Sorry but I don't agree with that. I was under the impression that respect springs from love and you would respect them in that you would not do anything to cause them hurt.

The secret...there is no secret, there is only the two people being able to understand each other and communicate. The secret is how well the two individuals can adapt to one another.
God, understanding, mutual respect, love, yes that is all key but not one by itself is THE SECRET, marriage takes work constant work and adapting to changes.
If there was a SECRET to marriage those who were married would never divorce and we already know that aint happening right now....

Defintely tolerance and communication. In relationships, everyone comes with their own baggage from previous relationships. You have to deal with the total package or it is not going to work. Its not easy, but if you really are committed to making it work, you will. Unless there are extreme circumstances of disrespect(i.e. cheating, physical and/or emotional abuse, etc. )
