I've never remained friends with a woman that rejected me.
Now, if we tried to do a relationship, and things just didn't work out... that's different. I have a *few* female friends from former relationships.

It worked out fine for me. We were friends first and thought "going to the next level" was what we wanted and found it wasn't. It didn't create any problems for us - we were able to go back to being friends without tripping.
Actually, I am bout due for a phone call to have lunch.

Depends on the maturity & emotional investment of the people involved. The person who got rejected should wait until he/she reaches a point at which emotions (well, romantic ones at least) aren't the sole influence in his/her relationship with the other person.

The friendship doesn't have to fall apart, but the person who did the rejecting needs to understand that their friend's feelings will be hurt and they may decide to put some distance in the friendship. The 2 can remain friends, but in some way the friendship will change.
So my advice is.... just be ready to accept and deal with it when it happens

If I'm digging a woman and somehow get trapped in the "FRIEND ZONE", which I've been trapped in many many many times, I'll remain friends for a little bit. The whole time I'll be trying to climb out of that "FRIEND ZONE" but as most men know once you get banished to the zone there's not to many ways out. Usually I just blow her off and move on. Ex's I'm not good at staying friends, my last I guess she thought we was friends but I just wasn't rude and always kept phone convo's short. How can a friendship be healthy if the friendship is born out of rejection?

I could do the "friend" thing as long as the relationship was honest to begin with. Sometimes people just don't click on the same cylinders and if there was no deception or ugliness, and I like your personality and company, then yes, I can remain friends after I get some space to put my feelings back into check.

It will fall apart because the relationship isn't true..it's one person being nice to the other..while the other has strong feelings..that isn't a true relationship, and will fall apart.
I have experiences, but it will aggravate me to bring them up so I'll keep them to myself, suffice to say, through experience, they will break up...

No and hell no.
There is nothing left to talk about and definitely not one of those people where you would have tea with and laugh about it later

OMG....I know you were serious, but your post had me rolling. Friendship purgatory.....I haven't heard about the "trap" in a minute, so you really bought up some hysterical moments for me with this one.
