Valentines Day, Love or Loneliness - AfroChat - African American

Any single Valentineans, if so, how will you spend Valentines Day? Are you one that feels that Valentines Day is celebrated to the extreme? Is love really that much in the air, or is this just another way for floral companies, and jewelers to jack up prices and putting a sale sign on them, making you think you're getting a deal? Also, do couples feel obligated to buy for that special one, or do they really spend their money because they love that special one?

As far as myself, I will work, then spend it alone in my hotel 1500 miles from my home. He's on the other side of the 1500 miles working also. We will however, spend some time on the phone sending sweet love notes. I've already received a beautiful card from him, and as I know him, I will receive roses at work tomorrow. We've dated for a short while (4 months), so things are still pretty new. We're in the friends-first stage. Just taking it S-l-o-w, :whistling you know!

Ian is in Iraq and I'm getting ready to deploy myself. We've mailed eachother really cute cards in red envelopes. I'll spend my V-Day at work, but I'll stay glued to my cell phone in case he gets a chance to call from overseas.

Okay. I just finished IMing with Ian. We got to chat for 26 minutes this is the first real-time conversation we've had since he deployed on 24 Dec. I don't care what else happens today, My Valentine's Day is complete.

I aint doing nothing. I never do. I will probably chat on e mail with my freind Chelbe....that is always good. The day means nothing to me though.

My b/f just called to ask what I wanted for V-day ( I am very difficult it buy for ) I just appeciate THOUGHT going into my gift. We've been together for 3 years now, and we've kind of exhausted the "flower/candy " thing.

We celebrate V-day b/c we love each other. I hate those couples that fight every other day, then V-day rolls around and their back to being lovey-dovey. That's so sad to me, b/c the only thing worse than being lonely, is being lonely in a dead end relationship.

I coached a basketball game which we lost, and then came home to watch my soprano's first season DVD and make my mothers B-Day gift which is almost done and will be delivered for saturday.
