Internet V.S. Wal-Mart

I would really like to know how the good people of A/C feel about meeting someone on the internet versus just meeting someone in Wal-Mart (or wherever). Personally I can’t wrap my mind around the idea of meeting someone on the net with the idea of a relationship. Now I know plenty of people that use the net for hook-ups all the time. I have one homey we call the black planet pimp. I’m not talking about hooking up; I’m talking about being on these sites with the idea of meeting a soul mate. Is there really sense of obligation to someone who you talk to on the web cam/phone but haven’t ever scene? Then what about that first meet; she’s really 230 instead of the 145 pic?!!??? The internet love leaves a lot more to chance then just meeting someone traditionally. But this is just my thoughts…. What are yours?

Risk is a given, an inevitable component of life in general so there's no question of its presence when it comes to relationships. I don't really see much of a difference in the risk factor when comparing meeting over the internet versus meeting in person. IMO, the only aspect that really makes the internet connection slightly more of a risk is the honesty or lack there of about the physical descriptions. On the other hand, not everyone is hung up on looks.

One advantage of meeting over the internet may be the time spent talking and getting familiar, learning more about the person on the inside. I'm going to be very honest, meeting someone on the internet with intentions to establish a relationship is far more rational then just wanting to hook up. In either situation, we have no idea who we'll meet, but just looking for a good time is certainly asking for trouble.

I don't believe we can actually look for our soul mate anywhere-the internet, walmart, or on the moon...that's a matter that's left up to fate and destiny to decide. I've been with my man for almost two years. We're happy, satisfied, in love and we met on the internet.
