Risk is a given, an inevitable component of life in general so there's no question of its presence when it comes to relationships. I don't really see much of a difference in the risk factor when comparing meeting over the internet versus meeting in person. IMO, the only aspect that really makes the internet connection slightly more of a risk is the honesty or lack there of about the physical descriptions. On the other hand, not everyone is hung up on looks.
One advantage of meeting over the internet may be the time spent talking and getting familiar, learning more about the person on the inside. I'm going to be very honest, meeting someone on the internet with intentions to establish a relationship is far more rational then just wanting to hook up. In either situation, we have no idea who we'll meet, but just looking for a good time is certainly asking for trouble.
I don't believe we can actually look for our soul mate anywhere-the internet, walmart, or on the moon...that's a matter that's left up to fate and destiny to decide. I've been with my man for almost two years. We're happy, satisfied, in love and we met on the internet.
