A question for all ladies and gentlemen

Hey AC Fam! I hope all is well with you and yours.
O.K. Here's my question and I hope everybody participates.

What are the things you do to make sure the special people in your life know you love and care for them? Anybody from your kids to your parents, to your mate to your friends...do you go the extra mile to make them feel special and if so, how?

I try to make people in my life feel special. But it depends on who the person is. I try to pay attention to the people in my life. What makes one feel special, may not mean the same thing to another. So if I am trying to make them special for a birthday, holiday or special ocassion, that is how I choose what to do to make them feel special.

In general, everyday life...I tell my children and others in my family I love them. I acknowledge the good in people. Always say "thank you" and many times I say "I appreciate you."

I'm a hugger...adn well..for "MrCurious1, I got him in the habit of kissing me good bye in the morns when he has to go to work ,...and when he gets in ,I'm huggin' him..or at least touching the back of his neck or booty if he passes by me...when he gets in from work....Heck, I think he knows very well how much I appreciate and support and love him...I'm touchy and PDA like that...toned down a little littel since the kids...but still feel him up every chance I get..lol..

The kids..I'm a hugger andwell, they know all they have to do is tell me, or call me that they need me...and I'm always there for them...from teaher conferences to dance recitals, PTA meetings...drop/pick ups to /fro the mall & their friend...(niecey's)..to reading to our lil baby boys....

I think they know just hard to put into words..how I know they know..or what I do to make sure they are loved and appreciated..and vital to my life...

You certainly are right about the differences in what makes people feel special. I don't think I've ever put this into words before although I know I've felt it.... loving comes very easy to me but it's a complex and somewhat difficult part of life while at the same time it's forever rewarding. Does that make any sense to you?

If I had a significant other, I would do little things here and there to make him feel special, like send him flowers to his job or surprise him with something nice when he gets home. For the kids, I would take them to a movie or set a day aside each week where we do something of their choice. Oh and of course, lots of hugs and kisses.

I appreciate the fact that people sometimes don't realize that the little things they do makes us feel good. My fiancee is in the Marine Corp so we don't get to see each other as often as we would like so we have to do the phone thing. If we don't get to do our little end of the night thing (you know a few things we always say to each other -our routine I guess) I actually notice it, it's like I feel it mentally and emotionally but on a subconscious level. Again, it's one of those things that's almost impossible to put into words...we know what we mean. Lol! Have a good one!

Sometimes they don't like to admit it but our men like it when we do little mushy stuff like sneak love notes into their wallets or have something special delivered to them on the job. One thing I always do is keep little momentos from hear and there, like a receipt from the 1st time we went 2 what's now our fave restaurant or a piece of paper that we wrote each others names on and I'll keep one in my wallet because I know he's going to see it sooner or later. Then he'll ask me what it is or where it came from and when I tell him he blushes. Awww! I think that's so cute! I happen to be the mushy type so this stuff is right up my alley. HAGD sweetie! Well it's true , what my other sis and bros here say regarding in fact to whom we speak of-

for an example- an older person [my grandmother ]
she adores for her foot soak and foot massages ,then her hair scratched and oiled- when she sees me coming she knows this is one of the first things I'll do for her ,if she's feeling up to it. she likes to hear stories of funny things that we've seen or heard so I try to make sure I have something funnt to tell her , just to see her smile.

my husband-
I have a habit -leaving soft jazz on when he comes home , the house is ready for him food is hot and it depends if he's ready to shower and change I'll rub/massage him down after his shower [it's wonderful for me too ! wink!]
kisses and hugs we give each other too.

we try to variate our weekends also- lil things help keep our love together.

for me - my husband leaves fresh flowers around the house for me [ he knows I love the scent- if they start to wilt -he's the one that makes sure they are replaced- this so appreciated by me- thoughtfulness by him makes me love him even more.
