I'm gonna say it does matter to some men because they feel their manhood is challenged. They eventually begin to resent you for your accomplishments and they will eventually mess around with chicks who feed their egos.......

Now a mature man understands that the more money that comes into the home is a good thing.

If an attitude comes along with the money, then I'd rather has a woman that was broke.

It is normally not a problem when the man makes the most money. It becomes an issue when the woman does.

it shouldnt but I have to be honest, for me it does matter somewhat..,I think it has to do with my upbringing, Dad worked outside the house to care for us ,Mom worked inside to take care of us.equally important..but as long as in the relationship each respect the others career and sees that their spouse is content doing what they do,and are contributing to the happiness on all levels of the union,be it money or whatever else..then it shouldnt even come up really, right?? I mean, look at me and my wife for instance.I can make decent money as a Electrician, and I have..but I dont get as much satisfaction out of what I do,I mean I offer a service to people, which is cool, But my wife, she makes half of what I do,and she really loves what she does!!Im looking into another career in phys therapy,or social work, may need to take a pay cut,but I feel I'll be alot happier.I have always made more income than she has,but soon the tables may be turned.I Wont know for sure how Id feel until that day happens. But we both work towards the same goals.Id like to make more than her truthfully..but Id like to make more than anyone I know!(competition I guess)

Doesn't matter at all. Back when my wife was out-earning me, she never acted like her greater income came with "veto power." As long as we share that understanding, everything is cool...

Well in my case, sometimes its a good thing and sometimes its a bad thing.

When my family first noticed that I made more money than him, he kinda got a lil hurt and wondered how they felt about it, he always changes the subject.

But when I meet one of his new friends, most of the intros sound like "ooooooh so THIS is TaMika! Girl, u kno he talk about u all the time!? AAAAAAND u makin gooood money wit a state job?? (to him) shes a keeper bruh! she goin places bruh! Wit yo Olive Garden workin arse!"

and he just laughs it off and gives me a lil kiss and says "yupyup thats my baby! I'm proud of her"

NOW..... I dont know if they talkin like this, picturing me as a "suga momma" but i always take it as a compliment.

Bottom line.... He gets offended when fam bam mentions it.
BUT it doesn't seem to bother him when his friends mention it.
