I know my s/o wouldnt approve of me "hanging" out with any ex...especially after hearing all the bad relationships I've had in the past with these ex boyfriends.

It has nothing to do with jealousy or insecurities. It has to do with "why?" Why would your s/o need to "hang" with his ex? That's just plain old stupid. No one needs that type of unneccessary stress and believe me you , it would be regardless of how trusting you may be of your s/o.
