I like what Samoon said. Sometimes there are things that the man may do that stirs up or even creates that suspicion. However, one of lifes lessons that needs to be learned is that trust is liberating. There's a difference between trust and blind trust. If the woman has been hurt before and never gotten past it then it will keep coming up in some way.
I have been in this position before and I have also been the one whos actions warranted suspicion. Unfortunantely it's the "chicken/egg" scenario. Which came first? I would love an answer to this riddle.
My friend recently told me that she doesn't put anything past men, especially Black men. I know she's not insecure in the litteral sense of the word. But she does have her armor polished and her defenses up. In fact I would say she is very secure in her position and the continueous blitz of images, stories and "girl talk" only help to reinforce her belief that "although I love 'em and I don't want a White man, Most Black men can't resist being a dog."
A lot of Black women feel superior to men when it comes to the subject of fidelity. "Why can't ya'll keep it in your pants?" What most women and many men fail to realize is that we live in a culture that barrages us every day with the message that "if your a REAL man you can get any and all the women you want, and you should want a lot of them." You can get her/them with what car you drive. You can get her/them with money. You can get her/them with displays of physical strength. Who ever she is YOU CAN GET HER! Men and women both fall into this trap. This is the root to a lot of other issues like why would a women take a flashy, blinged out brother over the brother on the bus at 7AM in the work overalls! Why take a brother who's layin pipe like a plumber and doing nothing else rather than a plumber who's motivation is trying to be a "Good" man? To all the women out there who don't feel scorned or insecure you are the Black mans greatest ally. If you have a "Good" man then tell your girlfriends that we are'nt all: Dead, in prison, gay or cheating on our women.
Come on ladies help your brothers out!

Insecure and Scorned? Be gone. Find another. There is no way you will overcome those two issues.
