I have serious trust issues when it comes to love, family and friends. As EvilEyes stated, my trust issues are deep rooted. I am working on trusting ppl until they give me reason not to but i find when I do that I get thoroughly disappointed.

Given that I am the type of person that shuts down quickly and shut people out at the same speed, trust is a very important factor. Be it friends, family, man they need to be honor their word at all times. One slip up and i can shut down. I haven't spoken to about 5 members of my family because they have broken the trust. This has been a habit of mines I've realized. I don't give much chances for redemption because in my point of view your word has already been tainted. My trust issues are more deeply rooted which i will not go into but i kinds know where they stem from.
That just my 2 cents.

I am just now seeing this but I feel ya EE. I got some serious deep rooted trust issues as well. It keeps me in prayer seeking release.

Trust issues
When we have trust issues with our mates it comes from an area of insecurity. I don't care if your man was the biggest "dawg" of all dogs....if he was the pitbull of all dawgs..YOU chose to be with the man so do that.
I hate to hear a lot of sistas say..."well, if I'm insecure, than he made me that way". SORRY no sympathy here. That's child's play. There comes a time in all of our lives that we have to except what we ask for.
Tons of us do whatever it takes to be with the ones we love. Sometimes we end up fighting to be with the wrong person. Trust is major in relationships. It goes beyond an issue of sex. He!! if I can't trust you with women , than I can't trust you with ANYTHING. So why be with you ?!?!?
The issue of trust with take over your relationship. First you check his two-way. Then your turning into an amatuer detective tryin' to follow the brrutha errwhere he goes. NO thanks !! Too much work. If ya have to do all that and ur that insecure about yourself....Then ya need to let him go !!

"In God we Trust" has the name of nothing but dead, white Presidents. They are dead and I don't trust them. Trust is earned, never voluntarily given.

I have been very withdrawn in the past. I guess you can say that lack of trust in people is one of the reasons for this. I'm getting more and more away from being like this though.

ITA............Trust is earned!
When you violate someone's trust it is a long hard road to earn their trust again.

i trust until you give me a reason not to. then, you will be hard pressed to get it back. i have tried not to bring trust issues that developed in past relationships into my new ones, but i do however, pay attention to things more closely now, and listen to my intuition when something doesn't add up to me.

Agreed. Let's not forget that Love is a two way street . One should expect to get treated how they treat other in return. Karma is a b*tch and you'll reap what you sow in the end.
