Sorry I'm just telling you peeps, but we just literally set the date last Friday and told our families this past weekend. I pick up the cake on Friday and I'm making my own bouquet and doing my own hair and nails so everything is covered. And I'm only taking off Friday. My supervisor tried to get me to take off the whole week but I don't need to as I run errands during my lunch hour and when I get off.
I am truly blessed as I believe I've found my soulmate. I will post pictures after the ceremony as soon as someone shows me how......Charlie (hint).

MadameX, thank you and no, this will not be a Vegas wedding - wish I could and stayed near Vegas we would be married already.  But no we are getting married by a lake in another town. We are not having a wedding party (bestman/maid-of-honor, groomsmen/bridesmaid, flower girls, etc). Just us, the minister and our immediated "close" family members. So, it really was a piece of cake to put together so quickly. I watch wedding shows frequently "Who's Wedding Is It Anyway" and they give great tips. I found my dress and shoes in less than 10 minutes - literally walked in the store and immediately set eyes on it and said "That's it!" and the shoes as well. The dress is not traditional by any means as it is short - I thought befitting for a lakeside wedding. The rings were the same way - walked right into the jewelry store and found our wedding set. I actually knew we would be getting married, but at first we said in September, but we couldn't wait so we put it into action to see if we could do it sooner and we could.
Corals, Thank you as well and thanks for the concern. We both have been through a divorce and we both don't have any children, nor do we want any at this time. We truly believe God setup our union and allowed us to endure the many hardships to lead us to each other and this moment. Like he said last night....."this is the life and we aren't even rich."

Thanks DBlack. I'm overwhelmed with joy right now. My department had a surprise wedding party for me as today is my last day. It was so nice of them seeming as I just told them this morning. They even got us a gift certificate to this spa I love so much and flowers and a beautiful cake and other goodies. I was wondering when did they have time to plan all of this as like I said I only told them this morning around 10:30. I guess I'm not the only one who can get a wedding/party together at a moments notice.
Well, I'm off as I won't be back on Afro Chat until next week sometime. Thanks once again for the well wishes my Afro Chat family; it really means a lot.
