I already know this has been posted before but I wanted to know has anyone tried this? A friend of mine alomsot married this German girl a few years when he met her on AOL. Luckily, she looked like the picture she sent him.

My personal take on online dating:

"Internet Love: Helping Sabraton get black women since 2001." LMAO

I'm a fan of internet dating.... I've done it before.... will probably do it again.... it's the only way that I can date a black woman.

More importantly, I'm able to have decent dialogue with the women before looks get heavily involved.

Never really tried it. I'm a big fan of meeting people face to face. Although responses on forums can certainly help me get a feel for someone's personality.

BTW, UC I don't wanna have to tell you this again...you ain't ugly!
(walks off grumbling about how beautiful people seem of have the most self-confidence problems, and how ugly people won't stop talking about themselves...)

I have but it wasn't intentional. I mean we were buddies and clicked well and things developed. The relationship ended but we have been best friends for 2 years now.

I tried a dating site to just meet some new friends after my husband died but I got a swift reality check. It ain't for me.

I acquired a couple good friends online on message boards and hooked up with an old college boyfriend. Two people I count among my best of friends are people I met online.

I actually prefer it to face to face meetings, a going way to shift through those you wouldn't date. In person looks take precedence for me, online I actually read and know some of their accomplishments before I speak to them.

I'm sorry is that you picture posted under your name? If so then there must be some mistake. If not then why do you have it up. The gentleman on the picture is far from ugly. Sorry to get off topic but I felt intervention was necessary.

Well, I tried I think two sites that did online dating. One of them was wack. I mean, I had this girl after 3 messages talking about marriage. I had to block her......psycho broad. Anyways, I think they're fun though. Even if she's not how I figured she'd be......I'll at least have a story or two at the end of the day.

Agreed. The eyes are the seed to the soul. Of course in either setting, you must have a common bond for things to flow fluidly.

Pretty much is the same thing here. Online is almost the equivalent of personal classifieds in some instance.

I know many internet players. And many people who have been burnt by this type of dating. I think it's crazy, to want to date somebody, that lives, more then an hour away!!!.
The net is a great tool for meeting people, but dating, forget it. One you never know anything about the person, WORTH , knowing. Two, even if the person looks good, in the back of you mind, you are thinking to yourself, something must be wrong, for this person to be looking for **love***, on a computer instead of getting there butts out the house!!!.
Most people I know meet people in real life, then communicate, through the computer or text by phone.
Thats what I mean , by internet players.
It's fun to me, knowing what a person already looks like and having something, in common, FIRST!!!, then guessing.
People seem to be more up-front about, whatever, they are looking for, and if dates are set, you kinda have a feel for the person (vibes)
Internet dating, you get a couple of paragraphs, a picture, and you have to take it from there.
I say meet the person, in REAL LIFE, then play the game!!! by phone or computer!!!!!!!, to me, there's a little more substance, behind it.
