I agree with most of you. I also believe in being patient with a man that hasn't reached his full potential, but only to an extent. Some men, SOME men, procrastinate too much or talk out the side of their necks about wanting to reach their goals. Women need to be vigilant for the brothas that are lazy, slow to hustle, and the ones that are cubic zirconias and not that genuine diamond in the rough. If a man doesn't have anything but is actually trying, he may be worth the time. Still, there's nothing wrong with going after someone that is established. I think it's ok to have standards, but be flexible because God may be working out a blessing. On another note, men and women being single may not always have to do with standards. There could be personality issues, hygiene issues, how one dresses, etc. Whether it's superficial or meaningful qualities, everyone that has been single for a long time might have to self-reflect and determine if it's something going on with them, or not, as opposed to something being wrong with the opposite sex.
