I started to reply to this post on yesterday, but refrained because I wanted to think my thoughts out more clearly, obviously something the author of this passage “didn’t” do.
I read it with an objective view - that was before I had gotten to the end and found that the author only had listed the shortcomings of the women only, but gave no character flaws of the men he had listed. I don’t care how many degrees or businesses they have – they still have some character flaws. He listed that some of the women encountered were not up to par on many different levels, but failed to mention where these men had failed to step up to the plate. So, we can not accurately give an honest opinion regarding the true nature of the problem as we didn’t have “all” of the facts.
That was yesterday and I come to this post today only to find that the poster has abandoned not only this passage, but his convictions as well. I believe, brotha Seminole, that your “shortcomings” has nothing to do with your height, but your inability to stand up for yourself and it seems you bail at the first sign of trouble. This may be why you can’t keep, or get, for that matter a strong black woman on your level.
If you are so easy to bail in a discussion forum with people you have never seen and don’t even know, then you probably - no definitely – have done so in your relationships as well. What sistah or any woman of any race is willing to put up with this???
I was prepared to defend you “to a certain degree” this morning as on my way out of the door I heard on Good Morning America that they were doing a story that said “Don’t marry professional women.” I didn’t get to stay and watch, but the little clip I did see said something to the effect that we don’t make good long term mates or wives, etc. I don’t agree with that statement, but thought that your post might be on to something – in a sense. But since you have bailed on “your” beliefs, then I guess this is all moot.
I don’t think being short is a complex as I was married to a short man and have dated a few short men. DBlack named several successful short men in all walks of life. But I even know several in my own neighborhood. One is about your height. And guess what – he was listed two years ago in Ebony magazine as one their most eligible bachelors. Guess what else, he is a lawyer. You want to know what else, he just won election as a judge. Guess what else - he is only 31 years old and he didn’t let his height get in the way. And he doesn’t have “a shortage” as you call it of women – professional, business women.
Big brotha Robbboy, you hit the nail on the head – he needs to pray and re-evaluate “himself”. James made a good point – most of the time brothas won’t meet us halfway. I use to think that way – that if he could meet me “just” halfway. But then I thought – I have never gone to Wendy’s and ordered half a combo. I have never gone to Dillard’s and purchased half a dress. I have never gone to the dealership and purchased half a car. So, why settle when it comes to a man? You get what you expect. If I’m bringing 100%, then he should be expected to do the same. I’m worth it!
So brotha Seminole, your problem doesn’t reside in your “shortness”, but more so in your “shortcomings” that you bring to the relationship. :)

I can't say I feel you like I'd like to seminole because I'm 'bout a foot taller than you. But while I may have the height many women prefer I may also lack the body size many would prefer. I'm only 130lbs @ almost 5'11. So I'm pretty slim...but I make up for it in looks :D . Anyway, you may be short but there are successful black women out n' about who actually might prefer a shorter brother. Just like there are some who prefer my slim size over those big ball headed cut up fools (not hatin'...not hatin' @ all.). Man I got me a professional woman and I'm not even on that level n' I know it, n' she's bad as **** btw. You may know her... Anyway, even tho I know I'm not on her professional level I know I'm the **** and and I'm not a dumb individual. Those two things; a little confidence in yourself and intellegence go a long way. Sounds like you just need a lil more of the former.
I'm not sayin' it's goin' to be a walk in the part findin' someone, it never is. I do see where you commin' from tho...I mean bein' that height and successful you have to wonder if she actually does like shorter guys and is into you for real or maybe she just doesn't give a **** because you got the cake. But what I am sayin' is that for you to put my fellow black women on blast like that is kinda foul, as D said they outnumber us greatly and even more so on the pro level. Get up, get out n' do suntin'.

Please disable my account, any way you can, and then erase me from your memory, waste not single nueron more on me...It is hard being a black male, and 5 foot 1 in a westernized society...NOLE (by the time someone reads this I will be a long way from here, so do not think of responses for me to read...)

Brother James, Sumyr, and all others, let's grant Seminole his wish and not waste any more "nuerons" on his red herring of an arguement to disrespect our sister's directly, and indirectly, us brothers. I do wish however that those who may not agree with the majority on this site would not bow out when the discussion gets heated, and respond with "intelligent" "thought out" counter-arguements.

Here we go again: Tall Vs Shorter
What do you think about this?
NEW YORK (Reuters) - While researchers have long shown that tall people earn more than their shorter counterparts, it's not only social discrimination that accounts for this inequality -- tall people are just smarter than their height-challenged peers, a new study finds.
Here's the link:

I don't agree with the findings at all. I only posted it because of the different opinions lately that have been posted regarding short people. I know too many intelligent short people to buy into any report that states taller people are more intelligent than shorter people. I'm not even sure if they are more advantaged or make more money. It really was posted as a sort of facetious "Here we go again," and "What's next?" Not to offend anyone. I'm short and have no problem with being short nor do I go about measuring or taking note of anyone's height. It matters not to me what anyone's height may be.
