I just say give me the ring. That way everyone can move on without her feeling guilty about keeping the ring and without him feeling regret for letting her keep the ring. Ill absorb all of those emotions for the both of them. Just give it to me.

Well in that case you can keep it, Corals. Believe me, I'd hate to stand in between a woman and her jewelry. A man can catch a serious beatdown that way.

Well MrAtlanta, it appears that all it takes are the right words and you can bring a man down to his knees.

I guess I would feel kinda guilty keeping the darn thing. Afterall, it leads to nothing but memories and lord knows that would be the last thing on my mind.

It's Like That

Due to the current financial restraints the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

I'm with you. If it ended peacefully I don't think I'd feel right asking for it back. I'd consider it a nice parting gift for her to remember me by. But if it ended nastily and especially if it was her fault she'd better give it back or I'd have my mama forcibly remove it. And she bites!

That's how I feel it would really depend on how the relationship ended.

The ring is not a gift, it is only symbolic of the possibility of marriage
She both legally and morally should give it back regardless of who broke off the engagement
The man can and should demand it back

Yes I would give back the ring.... Why would any woman wanna keep it???.... So she can remind herself daily that a relationended between her and the mman that she was ultimately gonna spend the rest of her life with???? That makes no sense to me.

That's the thing Serenity. If the ring is worth anything she SHOULDN'T WANT to keep it. Ya take that sucker to the pawn shop and then hit the mall for a post engagement shopping spree. And if she gives the ring back the man should do the same. I know I would.
