I never thought I could hate anyone... until my ex-husband pushed that button! The things he did to my daughters were unforgivable and I hated him for that, moreso than what he did to cause me to divorce him. I had never been a proponent for counseling, but that is what was necessary for me to forgive him and to get my daughters lives back on track. I wish I had gone sooner!

I don't hate people. I tend to pity certain people and not hate them. I 'don't have time for hate.
To me, love and hate are 2 sides of the same coin. I'd rather take the route of total apathy.

Alot of people have done things that made me seriously seriously dislike them to a point where I thought I felt hate towards that person, but I no longer put that much of my time and energy into it. In the long run, I found that it was only effecting me and it really is draining. I feel better to just ignore the person to a point where they non existent to me.

I guess you have a point. It's all about semantics or a play on words, as the word hate can be synonymous with terminology such as "intense dislike" or "strongly disliked". Sometimes, dislike can become so intense that the line between dislike and hatred can become somewhat blurred, but I think each individual has his/her own true definition of what hatred is and what it feels like.

I can only say that I don't know what hate feels like. If I dislike a person I just don't like them and try to steer clear of them. The only time I would think about them is when I would see them. I have worked with many people that I disliked over the years. All of them have been military people.

I learned growing up not to give someone the control over your emotions, b/c they win. I do have extreme dislikes but hate consumes you too. I just step away from people or situations that make me feel like that.
