One night stands? Right or Wrong

I know we've all been there, you see that person across the room/club/Wal-mart,wherever, he or she is looking real good,you start wondering if they got a man/women. You look them up and down and in a slight whisper you give the "uhmm" as an approval of their sexiness. The thought crosses your mind " should I?" This is the only question between you and the taboo one night stand. Is that one night right or wrong?

Interesting topic. I was reading the morning papers only a few moments ago and many women believe that one night stands are immoral, and those who partake in them are " 'needy' and 'deviant'".

I would agree and say that women who partake in on-night stands are basically loose women with the moral values whatsoever.

Forty years after the dawn of women's lib, British females judge friends and acquaintances who indulge in casual sex as being 'needy' and 'deviant'.

The study of women's attitudes towards sex revealed that women of all ages believe that sex outside marriage or a committed relationship is wrong.

Those who have one-night stands do so out of desperation or drunkenness.

The findings, by psychologists from Sheffield University, fly in the face of image of the carefree, liberated 21st century woman portrayed in programmes such as Sex And The City.

The research follows an Amnesty International survey which found that many people believe that rape victim who has had lots of sexual partners is at least partly responsible for her predicament.

Researcher Dr Sharon Hinchliff asked 46 women aged 20 to 83 about their views on sex.

Ninety per cent thought casual sex was wrong and only 10 per cent admitted having a one night stand.

Women of all ages were judgmental of those who sleep around, with some of the younger women being harsher than the pensioners.

The women also had double-standards, with some of those who had had one night stands in the past saying it was wrong for others to do so. Read More

I'm not going to judge anyone. I'm not even going to try to say what is right or wrong.

When it comes to one-night stands, I've never had one, I don't plan to ever have one. It's not for me. It doesn't fit with my moral standard and I can't see any benefit.

The article I was reading said that 9/10 women think it's immoral.

If the people who partake in it are handling their business with maturity and responsibility then thats on them. There are too many things floating around out there to just up and take the bait so freely & quickly. I guess that if this was the perfect world, nothing would be wrong with it, but since its not....

Personally I am not "for" one night stands. Even if the thought of "should I" crosses my mind, "hell no" comes shortly after.

i've had numerous one nighters.

i would be more careful nowadays.

women calling it immoral just shows how far we have sunk into sexual repression.
the world nowadays is a much worse place than it was. i truly believe we are in the dark ages.
there are so many bad people out there now. it's a shame.

I can't say that it's right or wrong but I will say that it's very risky for both parties.

Agreed. This is especially true in time of AIDS and other STD which is effecting our people tremendously. It's more feasible to be in monagamous realtionship with partners who have been tested , and refrain from having your legs open like 7-11.
