Hello to all!
I've been lurking and reading threads for a few weeks now. Can't wait to get in on the discussions. Familiarized myself with all the rules and regs.
A little about me:
I live and work in the Washington DC metro area. I am not a Christian, Muslim, Jew, or Buddist. I don't think Malcolm or Martin were great because of their religion. They were great because they were black!
I enjoy reading about ancient Egypt, especially finding information which debunks the myth of the dynastic race theory.
I would love to see a nation built by black americans. It may not happen in my lifetime. I believe the talent and material is here today but unity and self-sacrifice are not (in large numbers).
Two movies I recommend: Hotel Rwanda and Pursuit of Happyness.
The first because it shows what can happen to us (or any people) who divide themselve by class or physical traits. Black people must unite not divde! The second movie shows a black man struggling to take care of his male seed while trying to get his foot in the door of corporate America. The movie concludes with him taking that financial knowledge he learned from corporate America and starting his own business. This should be a model for every black man.
Look forward to sharing with you!
