T.O. TO CO-HOST NFL-SANCTIONED SUPER BOWL EVENT: Suspended Eagle tapped for ‘Gridiron Celebrity Hoops’ charity game.

*The NFL has thrown Terrell Owens a bone. The suspended Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver will co-host an official NFL-sanctioned celebrity basketball game with actress Gabrielle Union and comedian Alex Thomas during Super Bowl weekend in Detroit.
Gridiron Celebrity Hoops VIII, organized by Maryland-based sports marketing firm Jam Sports & Entertainment, will gather former and active NFL players, prospective NFL draft picks, world-renowned streetballers, and celebrities from music, television, and film for a game of hoops to support charities that promote quality foster care and adoption programs.
The event also includes a slam dunk contest with streetballers, pre-game kickoff, half-time show, interactive games, and chances to win NFL and Super Bowl XL merchandise. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to meet, greet and obtain autographs from their favorite football heroes and celebrities.
Owens, a five-time pro bowler currently serving out a season-ending suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team,” will be on hand at the event scheduled for Feb. 4 at The University of Detroit Mercy Calihan Hall in Detroit, MI. Doors open at 4 p.m.; tip off is at 6 p.m.
Upper Level Reserved Seating tickets are $15.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door; Lower Level Reserved Seating tickets are $30.00 in advance and $40.00 on the day of event. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $150.00. VIP tickets include priority VIP seating and a VIP pass to the exclusive and private celebrity meet and greet.
