I like your list, but wonder if they are in priority order. I rated Elway higher because of his comebacks and he did win two superbowls. Montana I rated a little lower because a big part of his success was Jerry Rice and a bunch of ther great receivers and backs. Same with Terry Bradshaw, he had a great supporting cast.

I see your point Tinkertoy. Buy yo, comon, how you gonna put Elway at No.1? Elway started his career as a crybaby and ended it with hohum years of performance.

Roger Staubach is a great, but i think much of that had to do with the plethora of weapons he had for many years. He truly had what I would call a 'target rich environment'.

you gave Dan Marino too too much love. lol!!

nonetheless, we at are pretty much in agreement, just not the order. Great list Tinkertoy!

No Elway was good at the end; that's when he won his superbowls.

Now go back and think about who all these guys threw to, and Elway is probably the only one who did not have a Hall of Fame receiver to throw to or running back who was Hall of Fame. ...... you probably have a hard time thinking of who played with him. :whistling

1 John Elway ; He never had a superstar receiver and they would have won more championships if they had played in another home stadium because it killed them when they played road games.

2 Ken Stabler; Time to throw = Completion. He would have been better if he was in an offense that didnt throw so many bombs. You have to get in a rhythm with shorter passes.

3 Johnny Unitis; He had great statistics during a time when teams didnt throw the ball that often. He also won a Super Bowl and probably should had won two.

4 Dan Marino; Best QB that never won a Super Bowl and I dont think he ever had a good tight end to throw to.

5 Doug Williams; Why Washington didnt keep him after the Super Bowl? He was very, very underated. Everybody knows he didnt take sacks. He was strong and could run. And won one of the most lop sided championships in history. He would have done better than Joe Theisman all of those years.
His weakness was sometimes he had a lack of small touch on the throws.

6 Steve Young; I think he was better than Montana and the statistics say so.

7 Peyton Manning; His Super Bowl is this year.

8 Donovan Mcnabb; And I didnt just put him on the list for the heck of it.
If he stays healthy in the coming years he will have all of the stats. He has really grown without great receivers.

9 Joe Montana; Had a little bit of every skill.

10 Tom Brady; The coaches made this guy. I cant argue with him being on the list. He has Joe Montana written all over him.

my takes:1) he Broncos didn't get a Terrell Davis until Later in Elway's career. he always had Talent, but never that Running Back until T.D. came along. Defense got better as well. 2)Kenny the snake always acted like He was kinda throwing games. He was Badd, but His kinda hit&Miss Attitude has cost Him. 3)Johnny Unitas was the truth. 4) Marino had Joe Rose who was a Pretty good Tight End. Problem with the Dolphins was He never had a Ricky Williams. He never had a Mercury Morris or a Larry Csonka. 5)a Black Man. come on.He Broke the Rules. he came out of a Black College&was in the Mix,but at the time the Powers that Be were saying that a Black QB out of a Black college couldn't make it in the NFL.He basically got ran off after winning the Super Bowl. 6)Steve Young: Talented but to Me Vastly Overrated. he couldn't carry Joe Montana's Jocl Strap. Young never put Jerry Rice in the best situations that Joe Montana did. also Young stunk up the joint when he played in Tampa Bay.Doug Williams blew Him away as a QB.Young was a Great Running Qb&did alot of things well, but He wasn't touching Montana. 7)yeah this looks like it could be His year.I respect Him,but He doesn't really move me. 8)Mcnabb is a Man who has done more with less.He never had Randall Cuningham's natural abilitys, but He beat Him in being Mentally determined.Mcnabb is like the Black Brett Favre from the sense He is tough period. 9) Montana: Cool.all you can say. the Man was Joe Cool&smooth. 10 )Tom brady same thing I said about Montana.no Coach made the Inner Mental Toughness that Brady has. you either got it or you don't.take Brady off the Patriots right about now&they are the Cardinals.they are in theLottery Bowl.Game Winning Drives is a Mental skill that so few Cats ever have.there are Better overall QB's but not alot of cats who can bring it.
