I believe on that same team JR Rider was on the bench. IMO they did everything, they could run, they could slow it down, play defense all that. Matter of fact I think they were paid to lose the championship the next year. Broke my heart!!!!
Damn Gumbo, average!! That's kinda cold when you're talking about one of the greatest, if not the greatest college basketball teams of all time!(Am I dating myself here??) Yeah I know I'm a Left Coast homer but, you have to give credit where it's due. Phi Slamma Jamma was the stuff back in high school. That NC State game still stings and, Grandmama and the boys were great to watch with all that yellin' after big dunks and that total dismantling of Puke in '90 (I saw that one coming BIG TIME!!) The Fab 5 were little more than C.Web and some inconsistent other guys, great athletes but calling them a team is/was a reach!

Anyways, 82' Tarheels could've arguably beaten any of the teams above. Mike, James, Sam, Brad, Joe and, the boys were a TEAM, something you rarely see nowadays.

What, no mention of the '66 Miners of W. Texas!?!

It was summer league and the stands would be full of scouts just to see him.
And wouldn't you know it...Chris Webber announced he will retire today......I feel SO old right now!! LOL

Yeah I say average because it was Kareem and dem back in the day. Athletes back then had hardly any color and just couldn't compete with the horses now. Now Kareem would of still dominated regardless which era you put him in but Bill Walton would be average. Phi Slamma Jamma was cold too, they def in top 5. 82 Heels I give them #3 on my list, cold had it all on that team but them runnin rebles of the 90 team was unstoppable. Dang C Webb retired today, yeah I feel real old.
