Obviously, Granny is leaving out a few details. But, the guy was clearly where he was not supposed to be, so who cares?

It was not wise for her to go back in the house, get her gun, and then start hunting for the guy. Note that if he had been armed, she would have been shot as soon as she attempted to open the door to where he was hiding --- assuming that part of her story is accurate.

The safest approach would have been to go back in the house, get her gun, get her granddaughter, and then go next door and call the cops. Let the cops be the ones to risk getting capped flushing out the bad guy.

This is actually an example of why having a gun is not always a good idea. People hear enough of these types of stories and they start thinking their gun makes them invulnerable. They forget that the bad guy might have a gun as well.

I was thinking about this very same thing the other day in a conversation with a friend. I think so many people are fed up with having to work so hard for their mule and then some stranger or neighbor for that matter, decides to help themselves to it. It incites tremendous hurt and rage. Understandably so. I cringe at the thought of someone forcing their way into my home and shopping for what they want as if they have a right to it.

Only a fool will totally depend on someone else (ie, the police) to always defend them.

I am all for street and vigilante justice. Everyone I know here in Detroit has been robbed at least once.. Now you know that don't make no dorn sense!! All anyone ever does is call po po after the fact. Obviously this is not a deterent for the criminals. They are not afraid of us or the police.

It is time to make the criminals afraid of us!! I suggest all law abiding people learn how to use a gun.

Do you remember hearing about a father and son team that... uh, "handled business" a few years back? Something about running over the father's daughter's ex-boyfriend/stalker?

granny shoots first and not asking no questions. But then that happened in texas so in itself speaks for it self. That guy that shot those two guys was in TX.
