A college student from Broward County was found slain this week in her Tallahassee apartment.
Chaka Baldwin, 22, of Sunrise, was a junior majoring in psychology at Florida State University.
Tallahassee police have confirmed that Baldwin was killed, but the department's spokesman will not say how it happened, at what time or if police have identified any suspects.
Friends who had a key to Baldwin's one-bedroom apartment at 810 Wadsworth St. let themselves in around 10 p.m. Tuesday and called police when they discovered her body.
''The lady was laying face down, and there was blood everywhere,'' neighbor Nisha Smith told The Tallahassee Democrat.``Her shoe heel was broken, and it was to the left of her. She looked like she was trying to get away.''
Tallahassee police spokesman John Newland said detectives located Baldwin's two-door 2002 Toyota Camry Solara on Thursday.
They found the car ''outside of our jurisdiction, but inside the state of Florida,'' Newland said, declining to go into detail.
No one answered the phone or came to the door Thursday at Baldwin's Sunrise address, where her mother, Patricia Baldwin, 46, lives. Relatives in the Atlanta area also could not be reached for comment.
A neighbor of the Baldwins in the 8700 block of Northwest 20th Court told WFOR-CBS 4 that the young woman was planning on coming home this weekend for Mother's Day.
''She was sweet,'' the neighbor, Janet Bell, said. ``She was definitely a good girl.''
FSU's vice president of student affairs e-mailed a statement to reporters Thursday.
''We are saddened to hear of the tragic death of Florida State University student Chaka Baldwin,'' Mary Coburn wrote. ``FSU's Victim Advocate Office and others have offered services and support to her family and friends, and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time.''
The director of FSU's undergraduate psychology department declined to comment Thursday, directing a reporter to call the school's media relations office.
A statement issued by the property managers of Baldwin's apartment complex indicated that police ''believe the victim was targeted and do not feel there is a threat to anyone else'' at the complex, the Democrat reported.
This is the second homicide Tallahassee police have investigated this year, Newland said.

Some more strange stuff in FL. I sure hope they do a followup. It is a lil strange that someone would just be found dead. A college student at that.
