You decide....justified?

Just how far will police go to get their man? Recorded by SkyFox, Philly's Fox news helicopter, three triple shooting suspects are chased and stopped by police. After being uncooperative, the men are hand cuffed and down on the ground when the beatings begin. I know this ordeal is not new to us and that's just my point. We hear about this entirely too much and unfortunately, not all of these occurances are caught on video tape. Taking the major points into consideration, watch the tape and read the story. Might I add that Philly's police force currently has a cop killer man hunt underway that already has the heat and intensity on full blast in the city. (unrelated to this story)

After watching the video and reading the story, come on back and share with us whether you think the violence in this arrest was warranted or not.

I don't defend excessive and unnecessary force by the police, but often times, I don't feel sorry for the offenders they are running down. I was in the Military Police before in the Philippines. And you would be shocked at the things that happen in the street (totally unprovoked) and the unexplicable behaviors you never see on TV or captured on video. I have many stories of when I was attempting to help and assist someone when they went psycho on me. No need to detail what happened and what the out come was.

The majority of these guys (running from the police or committing crimes) that get the beat down from the cops have records and histories of criminal offenses that looks like a roll of toilet paper. They know better but yet they have made a decision to indulge in criminal activity. They made a choice. Once again, I don't condone excessive beatings by the police, but it is not rocket science nor is it an entirely new concept that you will get your a$$ beat by the police when you run or commit crime. It's a simple as that.

Philadephia cops beats 3 suspects on tape!!!

Here we go again. Another police brutality!!!!

Here's an short excerpt....
Quote:
The video was shot Monday night by WTXF-TV. It shows three police cars stopping a car on the side of a road.

The tape shows about a dozen officers gathering around the vehicle and pulling three men out. About a half-dozen officers hold two of the men on the ground. Both are kicked repeatedly, with one of the two apparently struck with a baton. Punches were also thrown.

and the VIDEO HERE...

They keep this up there will be riots everywhere!

you know that's all fine and dandy for the loonies out there but what about everyone else? part of your job description is to apprehend alleged law breakers and arrest them, not beat the sense out of them once you got 'em. if you can't emotionally handle a suspect fleeing from you then you shouldn't be a cop. i mean i once actually had a cop pissed off 'cause he had to write me a ticket! imagine what would have happened if i had compounded my infraction by not stopping when i saw his lights!
it does not take 6 cops kicking a suspect when he is down on the ground, to put a pair of handcuffs on. miss me with the dumb stuff!

And, all that is totally irrelevant to the Philly beatdown. The video clearly shows that the guys in the car were trying like hell to get away from the cops, not trying to attack the cops. The only danger those cops were in was getting kicked by one of their fellow officers.

Keep in mind that the video was taken from a press helicopter. Which means that those cops _KNEW_ they would be on the six o'clock news. They _WANTED_ to send a message, not just to the bad guys, but to the general public that they were pissed and could do any damn thing they pleased, law or no law.

The error in your thinking is that you think if a cop gets attacked by felon A that makes it okay for the cop to attack felon B. That ain't justice, that ain't even sane. It's just mad dog crazy --- the kind of behavior you might expect from a rabid dog but not from a human being.
