Scores of Protesters Descend on Jena!

Oh yeah, I should mention that Obama, will not be there, Oprah will not be there and Obama has made no statement of protest or objection.

why does this NOT surprise me? but, anyway....i'm glad rev. al was there.

this was a fight edged on by the whites. If they weren't ready to rumble - they shouldn't have stepped into the ring (hung nooses from the tree). Punish the boys by suspension, but not jail.

for real.....they shouldn't have started something and couldn't back it up.

Let me tell you growing up in Louisiana this is normal. I'm 35 golden youth years thru the early 80's and we still had a white park and a black park. It was a unwritten that we were not to go there. I guess growing up in that state is where my real deep rooted hated comes from, they are 20 years behind race relations and the race relations in the rest of the US is terrible, so image 20 years behind terrible.

i am so sorry that u had to experience this.

I hope we take all this energy and put it back into black people everywhere in this country. I hope this brings some of our pride back amoung us. Yes this was terrible but this can/has been repeated in every state, city and town in this country.

*IF* only we teach these young generations the real meaning of black pride. believe it or not but some of us's don't know anything about black pride. they can't teach them if they don't know or rather not know.

i learned to hear, listen, read and watch programs. i watch people and movies because i CHOOSE to want to learn about my history. so in order to teach my yunguns now and grand yunguns in the future i've got to learn my history...

I was watching CNN this morning and some white guy was at a podium saying that "this incident isn't and never was about race, it's only been blown out of proportion because it happened in a small southern town".

Bullsh1t! From what I gather, the black kids were protesting the white only tree and sat under it. They were later beaten up by white kids and payed them back later on by beating them down, although they were charged with attempted murder while the white students were made into the victims.



Attempted murder? Looks like a pretty standard @ss beating to me....

And people are not getting this. You give 6 black students a judgement for attempted murder because you're the majority in small segregated town that lets a "certain" race get away with anything while another "certain" race gets treated with disrespect. The thing is, that there's not telling what else goes on in a town like that where its predominantly white outnumbering black people in the deep south. Just suspend them, thats not a hard task to do.

exactly!....there's so much dirt going on in that little town that only the black residents kno about it. it just took this situation to come to the head and the black residents got tired of it and started fighting back!

Did anyone see the segment on the CBS evening news by Byron Pitts(sell out). They gave a quick summary of what lead up to the protest. By quick I mean they left out everything that the white students did with the excpetion of the 3 nuses in the tree. I guess the media wants us to believe that this is about 6 angry black students nearly killiing a lone white student, and now blacks all over the country are outraged at the sentencing. Apparently there are people buying this, cause yesterday I was listening to the radio and a black caller agreed with the host that the black community is over reacting cause after all they did jump this poor kid.

So I guess thats the spin that YT will take with this, 'yes racism is an evil and bad thing that only happens in the south and should not be tolerated, but, whink whink 6 black kids did jump a white student and now the blacks are once again over reacting.'

They can think what they want, but this isn't going down quietly like the media want it to be. As far as Oprah and Obama goes they have to preserve their white audience, I am not surprise at the fact they didn't show up.

and thats just what it is the boy got whooped up on an now wants to cry foul he needs to be real cause i am not going to call him a man please far from one a real man takes an *** whoopin and keeps on keeping on just the real way that the weakling white folks are they cant whop us so they unjustly do **** like this i say they are nothing more then cowards all ways have always will be damm shame
