Birth Control More Expensive Than Kids?

This past spring, 20-year-old Elizabeth Harris had only Costa Rica on her mind but had to skip her trip. Having gone off birth control, Harris found she was pregnant. She said she quit when the cost of her prescription at the college clinic more than doubled.

This is very sad. Another one for Bush. If he wanted to cut the deficit he should have cut the cost of the war. How are students, that are already paying large sums of money for their education, be able to deal with such increases in birth control? Birth control is quite expensive where i live. The pill i was perscribed cost €35 or $44. I would be coughin out €35 every three months. Until I went to a different pharmacy and the pharmacist ask me if I wanted to generic version which was €17 or $20. Of course I took the generic because after tuition, books, and the materials that i have to constantly buy I'm left with €70 of spending money and spending half of that on birth control was just ridiculous.

This is sad but interesting. I recently got on a new birth control myself as hubby and I don't want kids right now. I have a pharmacy card and only pay $5. I wondered how much it would be if I didn't have the coverage.

This is a sad country we live in. As abundant as our resources are and prosperous as America is suppose to be, health care should be free for "ALL" regardless of economic status. I love my country and its freedoms, but hate most of its practices.

Listen the birth rate of white america is in the red.
You got to go to extreme measures to make them babies.
So you make it darn near impossible for child rearing age women (white ones at that) to access birth control. wow

I have been real stupid in the past but luckily I have never been pregnant. Not to put her down but that was down right ignorant of her. But all in all, I hope she will continue her education and give birth to a healthy baby that will experience a happy and loving childhood; Hopefully with two loving and supportive parents.

Yes, we must be carefull and responsible at all times no matter what the "cost" or the circumstance.

i'm agreeing with all the ladies in here. i'm giving love to all of you on here that have to pay those high ridiculous prices for birth control.

but check this out....

in china, couples are only allowed 2 kids and teen-age girls have to go in hiding if they are caught pregnant and after they have their child, they must give it up for adoption. talking about control!
