Driver sues Transit for not braking bias

This I don't understand, most New York Transit employees are Minorities who have been called names all their life, for them to be doing this CRAP

Driver sues Transit for not braking bias

Posted Friday, July 20th 2007, 4:00 AM
A city bus driver born in India is suing NYC Transit for failing to stop co-workers at a Queens depot from calling him "Bin Laden," "Saddam Hussein" and "camel jockey."
Mathen George, 56, alleges in court papers that "almost the entire depot" called him Bin Laden, and his name was scrawled on a wanted poster of the terrorist kingpin hanging in the union office.
"There's a limit to how much name calling I can stomach," he said yesterday after a judge ruled his case could go to trial. George, a bus driver since 1987, said he is looking forward to his day in court.
Brooklyn Federal Court Judge Raymond Dearie will allow a jury to decide whether George was subjected to a hostile work environment, but threw out his claim that NYC Transit retaliated against him for reporting the alleged abuse.
"[George] has produced evidence that he was the victim of a persistent barrage of ethnically offensive comments that spiked following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center as well as one serious physical assault," Dearie wrote.
When George was pummeled by a fellow bus driver in 2001, there were no racial slurs uttered, but the judge said a jury could conclude it was related to discrimination because the assailant referred to him as Bin Laden.

Name calling is sign of immaturity, period.

sorry. i might get railed for this, but being called, "Bin Laden," "Saddam Hussein" and "camel jockey." isn't being racist to me. STEREOTYPING yes, racist, no. now if they would of called him "sand niqqer" or something like that, then it would of been racist. im in agreement with TheDragon.. and this raises my eyebrows:

When George was pummeled by a fellow bus driver in 2001, there were no racial slurs uttered, but the judge said a jury could conclude it was related to discrimination because the assailant referred to him as Bin Laden.

huh?
