As I understand the reports, he was back on stage a night or two after this tirade. What does that say about the management of the establishment?

so when are we going to be as upset when someone black uses the word....It's an ugly word NO MATTER WHO USES IT.
I'm just as upset when I hear someone black use the word...But there'll be justification for it, because it's always about the JUSITIFICATION....It's never about change....
now I'll just sit and wait....

Hopefully this is game over for him. I'm skeptical of all white people, especially older ones. I think they all have these feelings inside, some deeper than others, but the right situation or scenario will bring out their true colors.

I agree 100%. It's embarrassing and hypocritical to make such an uproar over this when the whole world see us throw the N word at each other constantly in real life and the media.

It has now been reported that It just goes to show what or how some people really feel deep down, and him apologising doesn't really make a difference, because his behaviour reflects how he really feels.

I heard about this incident on The Insider last night, and it's really a shame that he would jeopardize his dying career (I mean, who's seen him since Seinfeld? )by ranting and raving about God knows what and why. Of course he had to apologize, or how would that make him look, knowing more than likely this was going to go public and he'd be accused of racism. They always say they 'regret' doing something once it's been found out by all. :whistling And I definitely agree with you all's sentiment behind the using of the 'n' word... my take is don't call anybody anything you know you don't want to be called (and other blacks are no exception)

and yet we continue to debate this and be upset about it and rightfully so.
and you know what....i betcha a black comedian was up there using the N word the other night and people thought it was funny....
NO ONE SHOULD HAVE LICENSE TO USE THIS WORD.....but whatever....Richards does nothing for me, what he said doesn't effect me, what effects me is how we continually put each other down because our hair is/is not weaved, we're skinny/too fat..trying to assimilate this and not assimilating enough....we need to focus on US and bunk what others think, until that happens ignorant people like this man will continue to use this word and others to get us in an uproar.
OBTW....He was banned on Monday. I read about this on CNN and MSN.com news. he was SUPPOSED to apologize that's why they let him come back and when he didn't they banned him....way to go Paul!!!!

Black Comics Weigh In On Racist Kramer Outburst
In light of Michael Richards' racist tirade at West Hollywood's Laugh Factory, comedians/actors Donnell Rawlings and DeRay Davis weigh in on the former "Seinfeld" star's break down and apology.
This past Friday (November 17), Richards, better known for playing Kramer on the highly-popular "Seinfeld" sitcom, repeatedly shouted the N word at an audience member after being heckled. Though the comedian returned to the Laugh Factory for a performance the next night, he has now reportedly been banned from the venue. Rawlings, a fan of Richards work on "Seinfeld," recently discussed the incident with SOHH.
"Yeah, I think he went too far," Rawlings told SOHH exclusively. "Whether you're in showbiz or not, we all get to a point where we black out and that's when your true character comes out. Unfortunately for him, his true character was spitting out racist slurs."
"It's always been a question like...when can you use the N word, but being a fan of hip-hop we know that we use it differently," Rawlings added. "But used in the wrong hands, it's definitely pretty dangerous and he did it with the "e-r."
Last night, (November 20) Richards apologized via a satellite appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman." "I am not a racist, that's what's so insane about this," Richards offered during the apology. "I lost my temper onstage. I got heckled and took it badly and went into a rage." Thus far, black comedians haven't cared much for Richards' apology.
"The political thing was to apologize but he really exposed himself," Rawlings explained. "Even when I heard bits of it when he was saying 'nigga' when he was like 'shocking...shocking, uh,' I thought he was gon do something funny on words and kinda flip it. But when he said a comment about 50 years ago you'd be hanging from a tree, that was definitely crossing the line."
Fellow comedian DeRay Davis, who has appeared on both of Kanye West's albums and is a cast member on MTV's "Wild 'N Out," also doesn't buy Richards' apology.
"You can't apologize for your emotions," Davis told SOHH exclusively. "It's like talking to somebody when you're drunk. When somebody's drunk, their true feelings come out. That was his stage. His stage was his alcohol and he said what he felt. He said it with too much passion."
Aint that a bitch. I was over my cuz's crib n' we watched an episode (my first time peepin' the show, was never interested). Was actually pretty funny.
With that being said this Kakalaka can go to hell for all I care after viewing his whole outburst a few min's ago. I'm not going to get too deep into this but it doesn't matter how we use the word amongst ourselves, so long as it isin't used to put one another down. But when a white boy takes it n' uses it to hurt us n' makes sure it's said in a derogatory way with the "er" on the end then it's real fk'n problem. Period.
