and my son raises his hand and shouts,"GAY" so he had the whole class laughing and the teacher wasn't pleased she sent a note home saying that behavior will not be tolerated. Okay you may say where did he learn that word. Let me explain i talk to my children especially when they inquire about certain things these kids know more than what we think we know they know. Well my son came home one day and asked me why do men dress like woman so i told him that some men are homosexuals or gay and i explained that whole thing because his friend who is in kindergarten too told him that they are faggots so i explained that faggots was not a very nice word to say. I also told him that gay could also mean happy.
Now not only did my son say Gay but when the teacher told him that wasn't a good word he said, "why its starts with a G and i can spell it G A Y, and it means happy" now i never told him how to spell it the boy has leap frog and they allow him to make up three letter words so the boy can spell anything.
I dont think that he shouldve been in trouble please tell me what you think

if it went down the way you described it here, you may want to start thinking about a Montessori school or another good private school.
at the very least, you want a better teacher.

yeah I have applications for a charter school in the area that is very good
but no matter what my child will learn because he knows stuff cuz i teach him he's in school for the social experience
as an educator I wont let my boys fall behind infact they will always be a step ahead
when they get their text books i scan it on my computer and teach them from it before the teacher can so that they know already and all the teacher have to do is give the test
its hard but momma aint raisin no fools lol

This is where I have a problem...While you were correct in your explanation that "gay" also means happy, I feel you have failed to look at how a five year processes things. He has now been told that "gay" means men who dress like women and to be happy. Trust me, this is no coincedence, the homosexual mafia is strong. As a father myself, I had no problem telling my son that "gay" is unnatural, not what I approve of, and flat out wrong.

at five years old?
maybe I'm out of touch, but isn't this a little premature?
is this age appropriate information for a young child?

That is your opinion, I think that being gay is a personal decision that most gays make when they are as young as five. I will not tell my son that being gay is wrong but i have talked to him because he has asked me. what i told him was.....
Men are suppose to be with woman and woman are suppose to be with men, but there are people in the world who dont see the world like that. There are men that like to be with men and woman that like to be with woman. I told him that there is nothing wrong with those individuals. My son said ewwwww mommy i like girls beyonce's my favorite.
I would never teach my son that gay is wrong suppose he is gay and feel like i can't never tell my mother because she is against it. I have gay and lesbian friends and wouldnt turn my backs on them because i it and i wouldnt damn sure turn my back on my flesh and blood. Yes I would be disappointed and cry and cry and cry but i would pray get up and get myself together because i love my baby.
Sorry if i disappoint anyone thats your own personal problem

In a perfect world: yes
Unfortunately, children today are exposed to things that we were sheltered from until a much older age. There we no "same sex" couples on TV when I grew up. Hell, one of my son's classmates has two mommies.
