I do not know by birth father. I am 26 and I have never seen him a day in my life. I do wonder who he is and why people say we look alike, but it does not appear that we will ever meet. Too often it is the child who is searching... almost never the parent. I would want to see what he looks like and what he has done with his life... wouldn't ask him for anything, and he wouldn't become a part of my everyday life.
I don't know why this happens, besides that these things aren't always thought out and/or planned. Then when they happen some don't want to carry out the job for whatever reasons... and some don't even know.

I only had two years to experience a relationship with my father...my mother and older sisters and older relatives can tell me and everybody else how i was with my father...but he died at an early age (between 25-35...i dont know)...I wish i had him here when i was growing up...
I always tell people...If a father wanna come back in your life...let him...at least he is trying...! No matter what the situation is, put it behind u and build on something new.

we need both parents to be whole! Yes through circumstances our father may abandon their responsibility as provider & protector and furthurer (my word), but if the brother realises the error of his ways and decides to amend his ways then in the spirit of atonement we should atone and make peace and give him the opportunity, because we must remember that a missing father is always a missing link in one's development we would be complete yet incomplete...
just my 19 cents
PEACE

Having a child with someone you are no longer with is very difficult. However as a man I must state that men who do not honor their children by being there for them in every way are foolish.
I have a little girl and even though her mother and I are not together I am involved in her life at every level. I love my daughter and I will always be there for her. She has been a true blessing from god and she is my princess. The men who run and hide make it tougher for those of us who stand and fight.

Although both of my parents are married to different people now. My father is still a part of my life. There's not a day that goes by when we don't talk on the phone or send some type of I Love You email to one another. I'm blessed to have both my mom and daddy in my life.

I Haven't Had The Best Father But I Still Love Him. I Try To Keep In Touch With Him And I Just Feel That In This Point Of My Life I Want Him To Be There For Me And I Want To Be There For Him. When I Think About it He Is The Only Father That I Have.

IF the absent father is a child molester, or someone who can't control his self and is involved in drugs [ you get the picture..]why would he want to be in anyone's life until AFTER he straightens himself up !!
If the absent father has no emotion at all regarding their child-why put the child thru that ? There are so many men that have picked up the slack where other men have failed as fathers ..it's a sad reality but at least there are strong men out there that has love for the woman and child.
