When I was a kid, we always played outside. We played in the vacant lot, on the sidewalk, sometimes in somebody's yard, but we never went inside our friends' house to play. Nobody ever said we couldn't, but it was the unwritten code. When you went over your friend's house, you would stand outside the screen door and ask his mama, "Can Johnny come out and play."
And that was back in the day when everybody knew everybody else. Nowadays, do you know the parents where your kids play?
I saw this in the Sunday Parade Magazine:
Over 40% of homes with children in America have a gun, many left unlocked or loaded. Every year, thousands of children are killed or seriously injured as a result.
So next time you send your child to another home...
ASK if there are guns where your children play!!
