Best Investment to make in Our Kids

We all want to be everything great to and for our kids. But unfortunately, life has constraints in the form of money, time , etc....

What do you think the biggest/best investment you can make in your kids? What age is the best time for this investment? Try not to be too general, so that the information is actually actionable.

This may turn out to providing alot of great tips for all us parents and wannabees daddy and mommies.

I think saving up for a college fund is a good start. It also helps by letting them have a bank account. That way, they'll know the responsibility of money management later down the line. Oh yeah.....start 'em out when their @ age 5. :)

It's Like That

Due to the current financial restraints the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

My biggest investment will be to get her a computer. If you think about it, computers allow us to access an almost infinite amount of information with very little effort, and money. Getting a computer in her hands at an early age will pay off hugely in her future.

I think the biggest investment we can give our children is knowledge. Spend time with our children and talk to them. I think this quality time will allow our children to become great successors and leaders for our future.

Computers are a great investment too. The vast amount information available is great right at our braintips. A college savings is great too. It's never too late to start saving.

I think one of the greatest investments is: undivided attention.

I was reading this articvle in a magazine about relationships, marriage in particular.
The author offered the advice that , couples do something every day to cultivate their relationship. They suggested couples spend 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted time together and one night a week, make a date.

I realized that you can use this in parenting. If you give your kids your attention, consistently, they won't need to get it from somewhere else.

I think that the lack of attention at home can lead to making bad decisions with peers, for attention.

The biggest investment is the gift of knowledge. Education is the key.

I think the best investments are in education, family values and morals. Children need to be grounded with morals. That's 90% of all our woes in todays world, there's no more morality. People do anything to anybody and they treat others any kind of way without even caring. They have no respect for themselves or anybody else. I look at a lot of kids today and cringe at their lack of respect for their elders. They don't care because most of them haven't been taught any better.

Investing in your child's education ensures that they'll be able to survive in todays society. They'll always be able to provide a means of survival and they'll be self reliable. I think that's especially important for girls, because you never know when they'll have to go it alone, and YOU won't always be around to take care of and protect them.

The teachings of family values is priceless. It's good for your kid to know where you came from and how you were brought up. They get tired of the "back in my day" stories but we heard them so why should it stop with us? Those stories moled you and shaped you into who you are today. And if nothing else they made you appreciate what you had growing up....even what you didn't have. How many kids today know how to maintain if the lights get cut off? How many can maintain if the gas gets cut off? What would they do if there was a week when there was nothing but crackers and peanutbutter in the fridge because there was no money left after paying bills to buy food? How would they live without a telephone or digital cable? They have to armed with techniques and methods of maintaining "just in case" they ever hit hard times, which we know they probably oneday will. You always hope and pray that it doesn't happen, but you feel much better knowing they're prepared to handel it if it does happen.

Is there a negative side to undivided Attention?

The best INVESTMENT is instilling the word of GOD in them.
Second would be living a life that lines up with what it is I teach them.

My goal right now is to keep my daughter in The Truth. To show her that there is no shame in loving a God who truly loves her and wants the best for her. And that she has nothing to be ashamed of being different in her beliefs when she's challenged on that. That is the biggest investment I'm making for my baby Bella!!!
