Lizaa, the above site is free of charge and you don't have to give your address and phone number in order to receive the information. This site also has a link so that you can check for sex offenders in any state. I posted the entire list somewhere around here. If you Search under sex offenders, you will probably locate the link for your state.

Search
is located between New Posts and Quick Links.

Well you dont always have a choice. People fall on hard times and need a place to stay. I know that the Lord God will preserve my going out and my coming in. If i had a choice.... i would try to stay away from that.

I hate to say it but knowing the registered sex offenders doesnt incrase your chances (by much) of keeping your child safe. Its the ones who dont live in the area or who have never been arrested and convicted of their crimes that pose the biggest dangers. Theres a lot of debate on the statistics and predicting the likelihood that they may commit another sex offense.

Unfortunately, the best way to protect yourself (because the remaining 1/3rd of these crimes arent against kids) and children is to remain vigilant and involved in your children's lives, know where they are and begin educating them as soon as possible on the matter. Most of the victims suffered at the hands of people that they knew. Depending on the legislation after Megan Kanka will never be enough.

Yes, I mean there are the ones you dont know about too.
Your next door neighbor might be one but you wouldnt know unless the law has knowledge about it.
