I think its important to have a father/figure in the life on a child, but it doesn't necessarily define who that child will be as a adult. Some learn what and what not to do from their surroundings and by examples that were either set or not set.

Alot Of Threads Have To Be About Race Because Evidently Most Of Us See That As Realy Important But For The Wrong Reasons.
Its Important Because Most Blacks Dont See A Major Difference Between Them In Any Other Race Or Dont Want To See It Unless Its Dealing With Something That Challenges Their Ego Or Pride.

I agree....!!!! If the father isnt a good father and what not...then the other responsible males in the family should step up and be a man and father fig to them kids....!!!
I was practically raised by strong women and I think It is important for a child to have a decent good responsible male figure in their lives...!

I think a male figure in the child's life can make and mold a young man to be something good in life!

The father or daddy or dad whatever you want to call it is very vital just as the mother is to the child or children that are involved. we as a people need to bring the father back into the family unit. cause when the mother is trying to do all and be all it is not fair and the same goes when the father is trying to do all and be all it is not fair. Mean it is not fair to the child or the parent. Also alot of this has to do with the choices that we as adults make in the choosing of who we are going to become parents with. we need to be more selective when we decide to procreate with someone. Meaning just because that person looks good does not make them a good or great or positive parent. Or just because that person has a good job with benefits as some ladies say does not make them a good parent or a good provider. This simply means that if we as mature adults took the time to get to know a persons views on family and raising children before we became sexually involved with them there would be a lot less deadbeat mothers and fathers running around. I still say that we need to start teaching our children the meaning and the value of family and what it means to have a positive mother and father. we need to get back to the basics and that is raising positive children and forming positive families because both mother and father really make a difference in a childs life. When I say we need to teach the children about having and being positive parents we need to teach them by example and that is simply being positive mothers and fathers letting them see that in us and our actions.

Im Not Saying That Those Fathers Shouldnt Be There But Maybe There Is Too Much Energy Wasted On The Idea.
Mothers I Would Just Concentrate On Teaching Your Kid On How To Be The Opposite Of The Kind Of Black Male Lsted. Then They Will Grow Up To Be Good Fathers.

Well to answer the Topic question. Yes. A father is necessary. Only a man can teach a boy to be a man the same way only a woman can teach a young girl to be a woman.

A Father Yes But It Doesnt Have To Be The Birth Father. Too Much Importance Is Placed On That. A Father Figure Could Be Anybody. It Doesnt Even Allways Have To Be A Man. Women Can Do The Job To A Certain Extent And Experiences Can Do The Rest. Its Not The Perfect Way But We Should Know By Now The World Is Far From Perfect. You Usually Cant Make A Mountain Out Of An Ant Pile. Make The Best Of What You Have And Be Wise On How You Spend Your Energy.

The father is the rock of the family. God says so. It's a little late in the game for the ladies that don't know by now.
Without the father, the family is a ship without a sail and a compass, and so there is no tellin' where the ship is headin, or when it will dock.
Single Mom's my hats off to ya, but don't think your accomplishments comes close to replacing or subbin' for a real man....a father.
