I say 6 abou the time when the kids start interacting with the opposite sex on a regular basis in school. In case of an emergency there is no limit.
I remember one time when I was like 20 I was at the movie theater and walking and saying whats up to this cat I knew and I was trying to be so cool(i was heading to the bathroom anyway) but I was trying to be so cool that I walked right into the women bathroom about ten feet in before I saw a woman and realized I was in the wrong spot.

Maybe I have too much time on my hands. And maybe Im just way tooooooo protective, but when I read that I imagine a pedophile (ty btw) would prop something against the door, then I wouldnt be able to get in. While I was unable to get in and calling for help, he/she would do something to my child to scar them for life. Too much tv?

Maybe too much tv.....I suppose if it is a small bathroom you could do a sweep to see it is empty....then anyone that goes in after sees you standing guard and wont act a fool in there. It is better safe than sorry though.

I agree, I don't like to see 7-year-old boys in the ladies room. By 5 years, some start looking under the walls of the stalls. It's not cute!!

MochaMami33, has your mother received "the look" from females when your son walks in with her etc.?

It only takes a second to violate a child.. no matter the seriousness. I'm just paranoid, I know for a fact how easy and convenient it could be to violate a child and I'd just be doing my best to prevent it before it possibly happens.

Chelbe, don't think I wouldn't go in there with him. Someone would probably call security on me. I will check the ladies room when I walk in because men have been known to hide in one of the stalls. My sister can tell you about an incident where she had to chase a man out of the ladies room. She reported him to security too.

This funny because I was at the mall years ago with my 7 year old nephew. I waited by the door. Guys were going in and out and my nephew still hadn't finished. For me he was in there too long. Girl, I politely said hello several times no male voice and walked into the bathroom to find him. I finally said his name a couple of times and he responded and I said "What's taking so long?" He said, "I had to do the #2. Get out of here." Of course, on my way out I bumped into a guy coming in on my way out.

Yeah she has but my mother is like 'And??' and keeps it moving. She does not care. That's her grandbaby always will be. She has 2 other grandsons but my son is the closest to her heart.

This is funny because on of my pet peeves is seeing grown lil boys in the womans bathroom and dressing rooms. I would say that at 6 they need to start using their own bathroom. Send another boy in with em or stand outside the door just anything to keep them out the ladies room. I will leave a dressing room if I see a lil boy in it and I just cant seem to go with one is in the restroom. Maybe it is a womans thang with all the privacy we need. After all we dont use urinals like men.
