If Your Child Dated Outside His/Her Race
How would you take it?

I know this may turn some of you off, but I would be dead against my child dating someone white.

Other minorites I would not have so much of a problem with (although still a problem), as all minorities in America have suffered some form of oppression, discrimination, and denial of opportunities. In this regard, we have alot in common with other minorities, and it's extremely important that we have meaninful relationships with people that have a core understanding of what that's like.

Whites view the world from a very different perspective. Most of them have no genuine compassion or understand of minorities living in America. This core lack of understanding undermines the foundation on which a cohesive, and truly loving relationship can be erected.

And simply put, It would hurt my heart to see my daughter bring home a white boy, someone so fundamentally different to how she was raisied and who she was raised around.

But If I had to choose between losing my daughter or accepting her choice, I would obviously choose to accept her choice.

I would condition my child to love their own first...but would not pressure anything. I would sooner see my child with another visible minority....but like my parents did , would leave it up to them and hope they are getting with people who treat them right.

As long as they treat you well in every way, it's true love, and you can wether the close minded ppl of the world i'm all for it. I believe love has no color

I would want my child to marry within their own race and I would stress the importance, but if so happen my child dates outside of their race I will not disown them. I would make my child very aware of my disappointment and why, but in the long run, as long as their happy and being treated with respect, that's fine with me.

I would be against my child dating outside his race but would not go as far as to lose my relationship with him.

Like my grandma said "don't bring'em home if they can't use your comb"

As long as my child is happy and treated with love and respect,I could careless :) True love is hard to come by, and if it happens to come in another race so be it. :flowers:

This is deep!! and I'd have to think about it because both of my parents are married to white folks. Heck I dunno, it'll take a lot of thought.

it wouldnt matter to me one way or the other. as long as my child is happy, and the person treats them with respect, they are free to love who they want.
