Boy dies in mother's car
He stayed in trunk while she worked
ASHEVILLE -- An 8-year-old boy died from heat exposure in the trunk of his mother's Ford Escort at a Jackson County nursing home Sunday. Police say the mother left him there while she worked because she had no baby sitter.
Asheville police found the woman outside her apartment Sunday night, cradling the dead child in the back seat of the car.

I never understand how people do this. This time it's not an infant, but an 8-year-old. Beyond belief!!

Stupid Parents
How many ways can the police, media, and society in general tell people not to leave kids in the car. What an idiot this woman must have been to leave him in the trunk. Has she never heard of sending him to school or day care or hiring a sitter. Well, I guess she has the rest of her life to deal with the fact that she killed her own kid.
I hope they press charges and that she pays for the innocent life she took.

Ya kno? She was a dumb bia. (**thinkin about it and gettin mad**) 36 years old and all you can come up with in what is evidently a crisis, is to stash your child in the trunk of ya car? There was no one in that complex (dayum what he wanted to do;his *** woulda stayed!))who would have allowed her to pay them to watch him?
Why couldnt he have sat in the car? Hes 8 it mightve worked for a day or so, but sistah gurl needed to check in to a more, better, more FINAL resolution...somthin'.
DAYUMMMMM
I could just whup her stupid ***!
(**stomps off**)

I live in Florida where the heat index in the summer is tremendous, not to mention the outstanding levels of humidity. Every year we have several children died b/c some IDIOT leaves them in the car ( w/ windows raised ) while they go grocery shopping !! I will never understand it !! I've seen ppl treat their dogs better !!
I understand that daycare costs are outrageous, BUT DAYUM !!! He was 8 !?!?? She'd be better off leaving the kid at home. I wonder if he was her only child ?
There was a case in Pensacola last summer where another idiot couldn't afford daycare, so rented a small storage space ( absolutely no AC ) and placed her three y/o twin boys in it while she went to work !!! The two boys were found suffering from heat strokes, but are still in her care !!
These people should be locked up, not only for neglect but for stupidity !!

totally ridiculous....he woulda been better off as a latch-key kid.
Parents never learn about the car thing do they??? *SMH*
It is time to make it a serious crime to do that and severly punish those who do.

I have even seen mothers in a bind, bring a school-aged child to work with them and let them hang out in the break room, or even hide them in the restroom. It might put their job at risk, but certainly would not endanger the child.

when will these people learn to stop leaving these kids in these hot cars with the windows rolled up and the doors lock. If you are going someplace any you can not take your kid inside and you don't have a babysitter you don't need to go to that place that day.

Well desperate times call for desperate measures. Yall have no idea what the mother was thinking and yall were not in her shoes. Im not saying it wasnt stupid and im not saying she wasnt wrong but u never know what was going through her head.
Now I dont know about yall but when i was that age i had a mouth on me and i wouldve been like Im not getting in no trunk and i dont care what u say :LolLolLol
Anyway he's 8 she wouldve been better off leaving him in the house, I know there's a law but at 8 I use to be in the house by myself and I was told dont answer the door or the phone stay in your room and somebody always came by to feed me, it didnt happen all the time but i knew better then to play with fire, I had food so i didnt have to cook and as long as their were cartoons i was straight. Yeah he couldve burned the house down but i think he had a better chance at living if she just left him at home alone
