I used to work in a building where abortion was one of the services offered...I did not work in that clinic. However...each time I went to work the same gaggle of dim-bulbs who were there picketing every day would surround me and try to convince me to "save" my unborn child. One thing I noticed was that eight out of ten protesters was a man. Which got me to thinking...how many of those guys bothered to counsel young men on the importance of keeping their **** in their pants? Or were they spending all their time on the women, waving their signs in their faces and calling them murderers?

As long as women are the ones stuck alone with a child they can't support, women should be the only ones who can make this decision.

And no, I don't consider abortion murder.

abortion should not be banned. we just need education. we cannot continue to use abortion as a birht control. there should be some kind of education on what the affects abortion has on a person. and we must realize abortion affects both the mother and the father of the child. even though we dont hear about often some men are definitely affected by losing there child.

Interesting. We both agree that the woman should have the ultimate right to decide, but for completely different reasons. A woman is not stuck with a child any more than a man is. Don't know where you got that from. Both parties are equally responsible and therefore should share in the commitment. While a woman has a moral obligation to consult and inform the man, the final decision should be with her, as it is part of her body.

So your point that abortion is murder leads to what resolution exactly?? Obviously your intent is that if the act is murder it should be illegal, or are you simply sharing your moral perspective?

If your point is that the act should be illegal, that definition above has no bearing on the legal system otherwise wild animals are murderers everyday, furriers are murderers everyday...every slaughterhouse in this country is practicing murder everyday. The definition above simply states "to kill", it doesn't specify what or who or why, its just a verb...and what is inhumane or barbaric is subjective....so again....what is your point with regards to equating abortion with an act of murder? If you aren't arguing that your point of view requires a legal resolution, then what ARE you arguing? That abortion is murder because you say so? That's it?

I have conflicting feelings concerning abortions. Always have. In my younger days I would say I was "pro-life" but feeling "pro-choice" in my heart. At this time I have decided to follow my heart but still is somewhat conflicted.

I surely don't believe that abortion should be banned outright and entirely. This notion does not make any sense to me for the reasons stated by another poster: The life of the mother, terrible defects, rape and incest.

When we debate whether abortion should be legal or not we are, for the most part debating whether it should be allowed to be performed by professionals in a hospital setting. A woman can always have an abortion, but most people want to see the proceedure performed in a hospital or clinic and not in a "back alley." And of course poor women are the only ones having to have to worry about this part of the equasion because women with money would always have the option of a safe medical proceedure being performed on them, abortion being legal or not.

Yes, I am essentially pro-choice but I have a moral twist to my pro-choice stance. I don't agree with abortion being a form of birth control; I don't agree that abortions should be performed after 7 or 8 weeks which is when (correct me if I am wrong) that this being shows reaction to cold and warm temperatures which tells me and others that the ability to feel pain is present.

If you have ever seen the results of suction abortions you would understand where I am coming from. The limbs are ripped apart in the womb.... to a being that can feel pain, this is horrendous. I hear that abortions can be performed up to 20 weeks. Unless their is an emergency, this is unacceptable to me. They have to burn (torcher) this being in the womb and facilitate an actual birth in this situation. Redicules.

These are just my stipulations and opinions and they are not up for discussion. This is just how I feel. And I would never suggest a woman have an abortion. I would tell her to follow her heart...

I am also aware of the many women who have severe regrets and even nightmares after an abortion; Like someone said before, we need to be educated about abortion.

I actually appreciate the dialogue and responses, and its the very reason as to why i brought forth the topic, hey my beliefs are mine and thats what it is, as so is anyone elses, and to me the practice of abortion is murder, but to no point was i trying to change viewpoints, who the hell is going to change their beliefs anyhow, most people are steadfast in those!! I'll keep listening to different viewpoints and offering up mine, simple as that! Peace!
