Mother vs. Momma

[Dubfly]

A black girl and a white girl were friends. The black
girl slept over the white girl's house.It was 3 a.m., and they were
still up.

The white girl's mother came downstairs and said,
"Honey, don't you
think it's time for you to go to bed?"
The white girl responded, "Shut up Mother, I don't
want to go to sleep!"

Her mother said, "Okay, honey. You can go to bed
later."The black girl
was very intrigued by what happened and decided to
use that when she got home.
The next night the black girl's mother said to the
black girl,
"Girl, go to bed! It's late!"
The black girl shouted, "Shut up Momma, I don't want
to go to sleep!"
The black girl's mother took one look at her& raised
her eyebrow.................



The black girl started to blink, looked
around, and asked, "Where am I?"

A lady came over to the bed and answered,


"You're in the Intensive Care Unit, Sweetie."

And this is what we should be proud of? I should stick my chest out about the fact the Blacks abuse their children?

The white mother in this blurb has her own issues so please don't respond with the typical "you're-an-uncle-tom" comments.

What concerns me is that this mini-story is obviously lauding the abuse of this Black child by the Black mother and nobody thinks this is sick.

This type of stuff is a part of that slave mentality we so desperately need to come out of.

We are not less than whites and our children are not less than their children. We deserve to have healthy relationships with our children and our children deserve to have parents they KNOW love them.

I think you missed the crux. The author is obviously exaggerating to make a point: Sparing the rod spoils the child ~ and mama ain't having that.

BTW …..I raised two productive and respectful black men whick are my sons both collage graduates doing quite well for themselves. And I’ll tell you my secret………………… I Bust they *** when needed and it made them both better men for our people..

Statistics also show that 65% of college graduates reported not receive corporal punishment (hitting, spanking, whooping, however you want to paint it) as children.

That says a lot. When someone wants you to believe that being hit by their parents was the thing that helped them along in life, it's just that they don't realize that they simply made it out OK. They survived.

Apparently you didn't read my "Uncle Tom" disclaimer.

I'm starting to think that this website is for Blacks who want to remain static. Well go right ahead. The overall mentality of most folks on here is identical the one keeping Black folks down in society. It's time to step up, people.

Sistergirl, it's sad to see that you project your negativity on others. Society must've beaten you down, let go those shackles and stereotypes that media has been portrayed of us for so long. So You're still having issues dealing with what this site that projects: Black Unity, Community, &Afrocentrism. Wow, it must be challenging to deal with a site that tries to stand behind the Afro in the chat.

Hang in there Sistergirl. And whenever, you feel the need to project your frustration at others. You can just look in the mirror, take the time to do some self reflection through meditation/prayer and you'll feel better.
