Spare the rod spoil the child. Once again, we are parents first and not their friends. We don't pop that arse but we will take away the privilages they like the most and it hurts a lot worst.

Yeah kids get immune (sp) to those whuppins if that's all you do. As a kid I used to do what I wanted to do because I knew all it was gonna cost me would be 10 to 15 minutes of pain then I was good. My little one though, lost his Nintendo DS, we gave it to a kid that really didn't have much and who will appreciate what he got. Lil man was heart broken to give it up BUT he learned about not following the rules things can be gone.

most times we'll just take what we know they like. Gettin spanked doesnt
seem to bother them the way it used to. After the crying is done, they're right back to
what they shouldnt be doing. But take away their cable tv and toys, and they hate it.
My husband makes them stand facing a wall or corner with their hands over their heads.
They really hate that. lol
