For my Mother....... - AfroChat - African American

As you all know, I haven't been here in about a week. My mother passed away January 13th, and it has been a very tough time for me. My mother was my best friend, my confidant......

The only way I can think to remember her is here with these words that I found.

IF I COULD GIVE MY MOM THE WORLD

If I could give my mom the world,
Or anything she wanted.
I'd give her my own heart and soul
and leave my own heart haunted.

I'd take upon myself her life,
with all it's strife and pain,
and let her ease into some space
Where she could live again.

The pain for me would not be pain,
at least not for a while.
For I'd be doing it for her.
And I would see her smile.

I wish that I could take her heart,
and cleanse it with my tears,
and make her sorrow go away,
and answer all her fears.

I wish, I wish, but then I can't.
As I watch helplessly,
and take her in my arms and say,
I wish that she could stay.

But loving is a hard, hard way
With all the pain it brings,
and yet there is not other way
to touch the joy of things.

I'd like to thank my Afrochat family for allowing me to share, to cry, to laugh, to smile, to mourn.

I will be back...That is what my mom would have wanted. I can hear her now "I love you too, Robin"

My condescendence goes out to you and your family. There is no pain like loosing a parent particularly one with whom you are very close. I pray that you will continue to gain strength at such a difficult time.

I know that no word I say can replace or otherwise mend what you and your family are going through.

Just know that my family holds you and yours in our prayers and hearts.
