Was sent to me/ So I share with you

Alafia,

Being privy to understand the systematic injustice of Black people in this country, I know and am sharing with you something that you know----------

What has happend and continues to happen in the justice system-is SYSTEMIC! (READ THE ARTICLES BELOW).

While our young black males are disproportionally unemployed, under employed, engaging in and convicted of violent and other crimes, when they get to "THE SYSTEM", they most often are under represented, convicted, receive higher sentences for their crimes comprable to white counterparts, are poor and powerless.

My soul cries out to Baba for STRONG BLACK MALES TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE!

We can not afford to continue rolling our eyes, making "umphing" noises, and doing nothing, at and about these lost males......I have a father, brothers, uncles, and a son who I know were helped in some way by and through God and God's manifestation through a MAN....

Brothers, I make a plea to you to, in whatever way Spirit leads you to, REACH OUT!!! You have sooooo much more than what our Ancestors had! Think about it. If you have but a lil bit to share with our young brothers, Share IT! There is no ONE WAY TO DO IT! Just reflect, meditate, contemplate and then DO IT!! Do it with your sons, your father's, your uncles, your cousins, young males that you see who need GUIDANCE! Let God work through you!

Somebody gotta start and continue talking & working with these young males........

Think about your own life. How did you get to where you are? Who reached out to you? How did it change your life?

Each one of you is a special male in my life. If you are doing something constructive in terms of the reach, THIS IS INTENDED TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTINUE.

If you are not, consider these words and do something positive and creative to help a young brother. Your life, legacy and work SPEAK VOLUMES. You need not tell a soul who you are and what you really are about..........IT SHOWS!!!! You do not need to stand on a podium and tell the world what you are doing or who you are doing it for,
Let yo work be like SILENT THUNDER!!!

I thank you for taking the time to read this....

I give praise and honor to Baba Shango for allowing me to fulfill my destiny through my work.

Ashe,
Iya Shangode' Easley aka
Sheila Kay

Thank you for sharing this.

As Black people in this vast land...we have had many challenges as a race, yet through the epochs, we rose in triumph. When I compare the indignities, atrocities and reverbarating pain that my people STILL bear...from being strange fruit hanging on trees, hosed down, whipped to the long-stilled voices buried in red Georgia clay crying out for justice to the rebellious, ongoing shouts of god-given FREEDOMS (gaddammit!) e.g. Apartheid deep in the recesses of mother earth's diamond mines...to institutionalized racism...I realize that WE as black people still have much work to be done and that we ARE at the cross-road's of our existence.

"Everyone will not be saved." To a few that are very dear to me, this subject has been one of long debate in our circle. Some of them are thoroughly convinced that, "those that ARE ready...will find the people that ARE ready," and then they will surge forth. Those that are self-defeating...will simply perish. Ya'll? I CAN'T see my people going out like that...not now, not ever. But the "evils that whisper...that continue to knock on black doors...permeating their MINDS with negativity...these are the ones that must be taught the sanctity of black and all lives and that yes, YOU are valued. It is the collective responsibility of us all to guide and nurture... wherever our feet are standing.

Prove 'em wrong...I will work tirelessly to prove the naysayers wrong. Sorry for the rant today, but even 'Samoon can "ebb" at times...but not to worry! The "high-tide" will soon be BACK! :)
